Desert Combat Mod was where it was at. A fantastic squad based game on grand scale maps.

(Tanks were bouncy mind)

Dont get me wrong BF1942 is still my favourite BF game to date (I'm not counting DC as it was a mod) , but it was rather arcadey too , huge fun though. Which as I say, is all that matters

Tried for 20 minutes. Not played a single minute. Unknown server error almost constantly.

whats quickest way to unlock the shotty in first class ?

Just play conquest, capture points, kill. Takes a few rounds. It doesn't seem to be as good as the BF4 ones, but still good.

Hopefully the next game will be more leaning towards sim.

It won't. Not sure why people always going on about BF1942 and BF2, those days are long gone, they aren't coming back.

Given I'm controller based I'm never going to be competitive at this but I really enjoyed the biplanes! Not quite as nimble as a tie fighter in battlefront but hey....

Love the horses too and charging at people. I think they should have left the heroes to Star Wars as it cheapens what was a fairly hardcore series.

I had a rather amusing moment last night with the heavy lmg elite guy, I was somewhere around c buildings and on my venture, about 6 enemies came from some building on the right and as soon as they saw me, they quickly did a u turn, 3 of them weren't so lucky though

haha, tbh not had an issue taking them out, few nades at the feet and sky high in fact the best way to take them out is sneak up behind and melee 1 hit kill. One of my favourite executions so far.

Unfortunately script kiddies are having fun ddosing the servers. Taken down Blizzard, XBL, PSN in previous months so I'm not going to blame EA, just the sad idiots that have nothing better to do with their time.

I'm really liking this though, haven't played any other recent battlefields. Is BF4 worth a punt for 15quid?
