*** Battlefield 1 ***

We are - there is a video somewhere - think it was posted in this thread - with many of the bugs - I've even seen the odd instance of random KIAs when navigating terrain, etc.

Must admit I did have the random KIA a couple of times in the BF1 beta. On the other hand I had a stack load of fun and laughs while playing and that alone is enough for me to buy it. I can overlook anything as long as I am having fun. I've played games with terrific storylines or amazing graphics or superb character generators which havent been games that I found just base, animalistic fun and so I didnt get them. BF1 for me wasnt perfect, it wasnt a ground breaking revolutionary FPS but it was a whole lot of fun :)

I agree with this 100%,i also found it VERY fun,was it as strategic as the other battlefield games?...no... but it was a whole lot of fun :D

strange,i havnt had that happen to me on the battlefront trial? ive only played it for around 3hrs but its ran great for me so far :)

I'm not sure mate, no idea why it happens or who it effects, or if it's a graphics card issue but I have an R9 290 4GB and my PC runs great in high/ultra settings for most other games and got latest drivers etc on windows 10.

that's very strange lol I havnt really had any bugs at all in bf4 that I can remember,i have only owned it for around 5 months but have put a fare few hrs into it as well

Was about 5 months ago they finally sorted up many things in the game - on launch stuff like this would happen frequently:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1I7U_ooviY

Attachments still are randomly bugged but its quite hard to tell unless you really know how the weapons perform with and without them i.e. if you are paying attention occasionally heavy barrel won't work even though equipped - if you know the recoil of the gun it can be noticed in that you aren't getting the extra kick from it or the lesser spread penalties when shooting with it.

ahh I'm lucky then lol I picked up the game when they sorted out most the bugs :) I was a hardcore console gamer for years and only switched to pc in jan of this year

A lot of issues with the Frostbite engine seem to be really random - some people will never see an instance of a specific bug while others will get them all the time :( for no apparent rhyme or reason for instance even after the supposed fix I will still frequently blow myself up when I hit a target with the TV missile in BF4 instead of the target it has just hit - while other people can launch them all day and never have it happen.

i suppose i was one of the lucky ones then because like i said the bf1 beta ran smoothly for me.. while bf4 was full of them

im sure i read somewhere that the battlefront launch was good though and thats on the same engine.. so hopefully bf1 isnt too bad on release

If they have fixed/improved the game mechanics, I'll probably get it, got no problems paying up to £40 as like bc 2, bf 3 and 4, chances are I'll get at least 300 hours from it. However, I won't be buying premium this time round (unless I can get it for dirt cheap) as all it does is split the community + myself and the 5+ others I played bf 3/4 with didn't bother bother with the DLC maps either due to 1+ of us not having them or/and just being of crap quality.

You've changed your tune, 2 months ago it was a 100% no not getting it, now you are almost nailed on to buy it.

I thought 1Tap would be the first to crumble, but my money is on you now.

Think I'm going to hold off getting this one. Not sure why I as I always loved the WW2 shooters as a kid, from playing the beta I really was not enticed in. It visually looked great, but I just know if I shell out that amount of coin ill play it for about 10-15hours then stop.

I haven't paid attention to the arguing, but I for the first time went and looked at the Origin store page and clicked the 'Compare Editions' button to understand what the f is going on.

I can confidently say the middle option 'Deluxe Edition' is a complete farce and waste of money unless you want to pay £15 more...that's ~23% more to play THREE days early. A quarter more of the base price for 3 days extra on something you're likely to play for a year +. Rather insignificant if you ask me.

The Ultimate Edition may be worth while if:
a) The game has the support (cough bf4 launch) and necessary player base by the release of the last expansion pack.
b) The expansion packs as individuals cost over ~£12.50

All the other waste of times extra they've listed are cosmetic foolery for those that like TF2 hats and CS:GO skins. Given the nature of BF and it's play-style those cosmetics will be hardly noticeable anyway.

If not the Ultimate Edition which is a gamble and you'r tight on cash, buy the base game.

Tbh putting everything to one side I do agree with Nexus and others about a lot of the issues and the way EA could take gaming in the future with Origin Access, Early Access and all that.

Sadly though I know i'd end up getting it and probably chucking quite a few hours into it so I've ordered it anyway. I got my moneys worth in the end from BF3 and BF4 even though both had poor launches and in BF4's case a poor year.

Hardline and Battlefront launched brilliantly but refunded both games as they were just dire.

If this turns out **** then so be it I've lost a few quid, can always earn more.

That said I've not played online with people in ages and gave my old Origin account and Battle.net account to my nephew so I've started another. When I did play a for a short time with a few guys on here it was a lot of fun, so that helps even the most average game seem better.

Just bought BF1 from greenman gaming, after the VIP price, 5% extra code, 6% quidco cashback for BF1 preorder the price comes to £35.56. Which if you rather the key was sourced from an authorised distributor is a pretty good price imo :)

if people really have to scrape around for a couple of quid less you might have more pressing matters in your life you should be worried about ;)

that , or you are just a tight ****

Can anyone summarise this game without me having to read 58 long pages?

Basically, I usually don't like WW1/WW2 stuff (guns made of wood!) I just prefer modern - but I quite like most Battlefields - is it just BF with WW1 skins (and wooden guns? I hate wooden guns!) or what are the main differences?
