Sometimes for a dev i think community feedback is the worst kind of feedback they can get.

I don't think its a stretch to say that if some people had their way then the infantry combat would be reduced to the farce that was in BF2, people basically spazzing around the map spamming their rifles while being stupidly hard to hit. The rose tinted view of how "good" bf2 was is totally shattered when you look at how utterly laughable the infantry combat was.

Even bf1942 had its issues, the gunplay in that was ropey to say the least, and vehicles took damage just from traversing the terrain (also an issue in bf2), while a good game arguably the best thing to come out of it was Desert Combat, Dice then hired those devs to help with bf2 then screwed them over near the end of the project essentially ****canning them if they didn't want to move to Sweden.

Then you have the crowd that say "give us bf2 with better graphics", so people want to pay full price for a visual upgrade but essentially want to play the same game. Then companies do release games like that and the warcry around the world is "ohmehgerd its a re-skinned BF3!!!!"222211111 and theyre charging full price for it!!!!11111". If you want to play bf2 then go play it, having some kind of raging erection for a visual\engine upgrade is just pointless as its incredibly unlikely to happen, at least on an official basis. Anyway who wants yet ANOTHER modern shooter with all the lock on crap that comes as stock with it?

Even now in the trial people are still on the whinge about tanks being OP despite the fact there's plenty of weapons to combat them with, i think its getting to the point where people want tanks to be made out of corrugated paper and shoot nerf darts.

Yeah community feedback is a complex issue - also a fine balancing act between not upsetting the apple cart too much but trying to do something new and original at the same time.

i wasnt going to sub, then literally thought its the cost of a pint or 2 coffees for a trial and a month of other games, albeit many i already own. downloading now.

EA do make a killing of folks like me in this regard

They do indeed but for the sake of a few quid who really cares.

You can spend a £10 down the shop without blinking an eye. There is some decent games on there as well so it's not a complete waste.

People moan about feeding EA's greed yet they have the latest Samsung/IPhone every year at £600 or swap GPU's every year at £600 for a small performance increase and that's ok.

well there is always the Devs vision of a game and a Players vision. often different.

many devs dont even play their own games.thats often my first arguement.how can you relate to players if you dont know your own game ?

whiteboard ideas often arent the same in play.

in fps titles i dont get why more pros arent brought in to work with the development instead of youtubers. fair enough they can do great media but at playing and bringing the ideas and gameplay which works they are not the best people to be asking.

not all youtubers are bad some are very good players but a lot of the current ronku crew arent great or anything that you would call top of the tree fps players. so why would you use their ideas to make many features ? their specially is in making the videos for the game.

at the end of the day we are getting a game that is mass produced. so its going to be watered down. it needs to sell.

i find it fun enough to play.so im happy with that. do i think its the best battlefield ever made ? probably not but thats part and parcel of making a mass produced game that suits the majority and not the minority.

Pro's don't represent the majority of gamers. Plus most will only recommend what's best for them and not to a complete gaming audience.

In fact pro's are by far the worst people to ask.

The problem is dg, they didn't even listen to the youtubers... x and others said that they raised the issue about gunplay multiple times at the events and yet it hasn't changed, even with xfactor being very vocal about it on twitter and in his youtube videos so there is no way they would listen to the real pros as the game wouldn't be suitable for the market they are aiming at.

The fact that they invited all those famous people who by the looks of it, had never played a game in their life shows that they want to attract all types of people to the game.

Sometimes for a dev i think community feedback is the worst kind of feedback they can get.

Yup if people go back to play bf 2 now, I'm pretty sure a lot of those people would be left disappointed, the infy play was utterly stupid, dolphin dive FTW!!!!

Also, just because a game is set in modern times doesn't mean that they have to include lock on weapons, this is just DICE's mentality, they decide to cram in as much as possible, which usually results in harming how a game plays out i.e. for bf 3 and 4:

- ac130 addition, broke the gameplay completely especially on the naval strike DLC maps + artillery truck
- stupid gadgets like UCAV, SUAV, rawr machine gun/greande bot
- weapon unlocks like activ radar missiles, staff shell
- the amount of vehicles they crammed into certain maps i.e. lacang, zavod

Unfortunately BF 1 is aimed at the COD base and by the looks of all those youtubers jumping from COD to BF 1, you can expect vehicle gameplay to go to **** (they have completely ruined air combat with the removal of the best air speed for turning, adding multiple plane types to the mix, having any gun being able to damage the plane as well as the damage system where planes lose control if even one bullet hits the wing and a cannon that can one shot planes....). It should be pretty evident that those players just want a game where they can run around and go on a 15+ kill streak doing 180 no scopes without any threat from vehicles. That is why I never listen to levelcap's advice on vehicles, all he plays is TDM with the odd squad up on conquest thrown in.

It is also the same people from bf 4 who cried about vehicles being OP despite the balance being extremely good given all the weapons/gadgets/vehicles at their disposal. Essentially players don't want to take the time to learn on how best to handle vehicles or better yet, get good in vehicles themselves and then take those people raping in vehicles out... It was the same for me, I was awful with planes, got sick and tired of getting rekt by some guy in the attack jet going 40+ but instead of whining in chat and hitting alt-f4, I took the time to get good myself and turn the tables around but unfortunately, that is too much for people to do these days.

I got no problem paying £3.99, heck I spend more than that on beard oils/balms every month! :p :o As you know, for me it is the concern of what EA access will evolve into (given how DLC has ended up, microsoft store etc. etc.), it is only a matter of time till EA access becomes another deterrent to gaming imo.

You're obviously too casual to play this game if you don't know what that error is and how to fix it.

My diagnosis is to uninstall the game and buy Infinite Warfare.

pffft my PC skillz are ovbiously up there as I fixed it !! re-downloaded drivers and re-installed, Boom !! back in the game... still crap at it :D

Wing damage takes more hits for it to make the plane hard to fly. Also it makes sense that these planes are damaged by everything, they were, after all nothing but canvas and wood. Pilots could get shot down by ground fire from small arms back in those days pretty easily, especially on recon missions.

As for the modern day stuff, lock on gadgets are pretty much a lock for taking down aircraft in any-case. It would be pretty dumb of them not to a have a stinger or some sort of lock on for the aircraft. They just went over the top with things like staff shells, sraw and the like, they're not lock on but its not like it takes any doing on the players part for those to hit.

When it comes down to it i wonder how much of their game they actually play. Look at bf3 heli's with the pilot and the gunner having their own sets of countermeasures, that was borderline retarded and it was obvious pretty quickly that it was an issue, not to the devs and playtesters it would seem.

Some of this is down to the grinding for an unlock mentality as well, devs just seem to need to have a stack of weapons to unlock and that more often than not includes stuff that never seems to get tested properly, factor in mods to weapons and its an even bigger number of combinations that need looking at.

Alright lads,

To anyone thats playing this Is there hardcore mode ? if not iam going to give this a miss i personally hate the spongy bullet games ????

Thanks
