The problem is dg, they didn't even listen to the youtubers... x and others said that they raised the issue about gunplay multiple times at the events and yet it hasn't changed, even with xfactor being very vocal about it on twitter and in his youtube videos so there is no way they would listen to the real pros as the game wouldn't be suitable for the market they are aiming at.
The fact that they invited all those famous people who by the looks of it, had never played a game in their life shows that they want to attract all types of people to the game.
Sometimes for a dev i think community feedback is the worst kind of feedback they can get.
Yup if people go back to play bf 2 now, I'm pretty sure a lot of those people would be left disappointed, the infy play was utterly stupid, dolphin dive FTW!!!!
Also, just because a game is set in modern times doesn't mean that they have to include lock on weapons, this is just DICE's mentality, they decide to cram in as much as possible, which usually results in harming how a game plays out i.e. for bf 3 and 4:
- ac130 addition, broke the gameplay completely especially on the naval strike DLC maps + artillery truck
- stupid gadgets like UCAV, SUAV, rawr machine gun/greande bot
- weapon unlocks like activ radar missiles, staff shell
- the amount of vehicles they crammed into certain maps i.e. lacang, zavod
Unfortunately BF 1 is aimed at the COD base and by the looks of all those youtubers jumping from COD to BF 1, you can expect vehicle gameplay to go to
**** (they have completely ruined air combat with the removal of the best air speed for turning, adding multiple plane types to the mix, having any gun being able to damage the plane as well as the damage system where planes lose control if even one bullet hits the wing and a cannon that can one shot planes....). It should be pretty evident that those players just want a game where they can run around and go on a 15+ kill streak doing 180 no scopes without any threat from vehicles. That is why I never listen to levelcap's advice on vehicles, all he plays is TDM with the odd squad up on conquest thrown in.
It is also the same people from bf 4 who cried about vehicles being OP despite the balance being extremely good given all the weapons/gadgets/vehicles at their disposal. Essentially players don't want to take the time to learn on how best to handle vehicles or better yet, get good in vehicles themselves and then take those people raping in vehicles out... It was the same for me, I was awful with planes, got sick and tired of getting rekt by some guy in the attack jet going 40+ but instead of whining in chat and hitting alt-f4, I took the time to get good myself and turn the tables around but unfortunately, that is too much for people to do these days.
They do indeed but for the sake of a few quid who really cares.
You can spend a £10 down the shop without blinking an eye. There is some decent games on there as well so it's not a complete waste.
People moan about feeding EA's greed yet they have the latest Samsung/IPhone every year at £600 or swap GPU's every year at £600 for a small performance increase and that's ok.
I got no problem paying £3.99, heck I spend more than that on beard oils/balms every month!
As you know, for me it is the concern of what EA access will evolve into (given how DLC has ended up, microsoft store etc. etc.), it is only a matter of time till EA access becomes another deterrent to gaming imo.
