*** Battlefield 1 ***

I'm actually waiting for them to just finally admit there financial model and call it

"Battlefield 2016" Pre-order now for current soldier line-up.
 
Really hoping it will be 2142, although advanced warfare and black ops 3 have already taken it there and there are a lot of futuristic shooters around I think 2142 did it really well and could be even better.

However, I don't think that's going to happen, another modern shooter would probably more more money so...

My dream would be a WW2 shooter including all fronts (but in Dices case)
BF 1943 including American european theater
American Pacific DLC
Russian winter DLC
Market Garden DLC
Etc etc

Preorder bonus: Thompson Drum mag/ Battle of Bulge map pack

It'll likely be just like the previous couple games. $60 + $50 season pass.

Which I'm ok with. DICE make some of the best DLC/expansion content in the business and provide the continual support that competitive multiplayer games like this really benefit from.
 
Not sure I'd agree with that and the numbers also go against what you've said, majority of the maps added via DLC in BF4 had very low numbers compared to some of the original maps.
 
Looking forward to seeing this. Will be the first Battlefield that is current-gen? I think BF4 etc were released on previous gen as well which might of meant limiting some of the visuals.

I hope they also push slightly more in the realistic gunplay and environments which might lead to some larger maps and different playstyles. A little like the older BF games.

Player counts almost always dwindle over time for any multiplayer competitive game outside of a few staple titles. And whether or not the individual maps are being played as much as the originals, just the fact they exist, along with the new weapons, challenges, vehicles and fixes/patches, has kept the general BF4 population relatively strong for a game that came out *over* two years ago as a cross-gen game.

Plus the quality of DLC content has been very high overall. I dont think anybody can reasonably argue that BF4 wasn't very well supported. And I think a whole lot of people who were BF4 regulars would argue the $50 Premium/season pass was well worth it.

Prepare for DX12 and 2143. If it is Bad Company 3 then I will be pleasantly surprised but with the sci-fi theme being so dominant you can get that EA want to move to that era asap with BF. It may not be as silly as COD with parkour or jet packs but it will be set in the future but hopefully with no silly killstreak rewards. The reason I mention that is because of the perk progression in BF4 which is useless when playing with randoms.
 
I put 1200 hours into Bf3 and still love it to this day. Some of the most fun I have had gaming was playing every day with CQ247. I'd pay £120 for another gaming experience like that.

I put 100 hours into bf4 spread over 1.5 years and still have no ****ing idea why I hate it so much. Something just felt "off" when I played and it was no fun. It's the game I most regret buying.

The only thing certain about the upcoming game is I won't be preordering it.
