Battlefield 3 RETAIL Performance Thread

Updated to 11.10v3, significant improvements. Hitting the vsync wall at 60fps everything on ultra, 4x AA 16 x AF SSAO on.

Still getting the mouse stutter, only when indoors, tried lowing shadows and textures but no change, any ideas?

I would expect to play at ultra settings you need 1.5Gb + vram as a minimum.

So glad when I bought this 5870 I went for the 2Gb version, really meant it was top of its class when the 5870 was a flag ship card, and it also means its still in the game when it performs today like a 6950.

What is your average fps on a large 64 player map while playing on ultra?

It'll be faster than a single GTX 580 by a fair margin. 560Tis are equal to 6950s and those in crossfire are running ultra without issue. You would be very happy with an extra 560Ti.
 
Well F me......just uninstalled CAP4 and no stutter, absolutely smooth 100-200 fps.

10.9 V3 drivers on my 5970+5870

Texture High
shadows medium
effects ultra
mesh ultra
terrain ultra
decor ultra
2x MSAA
post off
blur off
16x AF

Much much better without the CAPS.
 
Chief, you might as well have Post on as well because it's such a minimal hit to fps. Something like 5-7fps. You should be able to run textures and shadows on ultra as well, I do on the 5850s and it's still 80-120fps.

I'd like to see this too, not that I'm interested in this game, I just want to see how my cards would perform.

But as someone else said, 2 x 560 tis would perform significantly higher than a single GTX 580.
 
Hey everyone,

I'm currently using the GTX460 on high settings and getting 40fps, but I'm getting some horrible graphical glitches and artifacts to the point that its totally unplayable. Only started happening on the second mission :D anyone else got this issue at all?
I removed the overclock I had and I've got the latest drivers, still the same... Dammit, really want to play it lol

I noticed that with CF enabled on BF3 it doesn't seem to do very little, my read outs were like this (in SP):

GPU 1: 99%
GPU 2: 4%
Memory: 2154mb
FPS: 75 (avg 70)

Crossfire improvements incoming?
 
To spoil the fun a bit - I was struggling to spot people with so many distracting graphical elements. So I started playing in a small window on low quality and got 28-14 straight away (instead of about 6-6 or so).

Furry muff bud. Good to hear it's all good for you now. Wish I could say the same for Adrian, he's having a mare!

Funny how you get stuttering with CAP4, yet for me and some others it fixes it! :confused:
