it did in the beta a great deal so it's been left at that since.

I'm hoping it's not the realtek sound card punkbuster issue that plagued Bad Company 2
I have just manually set the fan speed on the card so will see if that makes any difference.
I get a looping sound lock up (brrrrrr type sound) and have to reset my machine.
I use MSI Afterburner to set a fan profile on my system. The only version that doesn't crash my system is version 2.0.0 I've tried all the others including the latest beta and they all crashed the system.
If I use the latest version of GPUZ 0.5.5 this crashes the system as well.
I reverted back to Afterburner v 2.0.0 and Fraps 3.4.6 last week and played for 3 hours with no problems.
Had a couple of hours last night on BF3 with the same software running.
So if you are getting BSOD with the sound looping try turning off your monitoring software and see if the game runs ok.
I only got BF3 installed last night but it played no problem. Late to the party but I've been away since Thursday.
I was getting those type of lockup's on BFBC2 and it took me a while to sort the problem out. Even clean install's of various versions of Windows 7. Every time I thought I'd sorted it it would BSOD.
I finally sorted it last week.
I'm running 6870 crossfire setup.
The problem is software the monitors temps etc in the background while the game is running. Apparently these conflict with Punkbuster and the game locks the computer solid.

Saw my dad playing this a bit last night - 460gtx 768mb
Game kept hanging for a few seconds every so often, then would carry on as normal.
What dirivers? Ive gone back t o 285.38 and stuttering/sudden drops have now stopped that were happening with the 285.62 drivers
Exactly the same here. I've also turned hypterthreading off, so dunno how much that has impacted the overall gameplay.
How do you turn that off. Working fine now though so might just leave it.
Yeah if it's fine just leave it I guess. But you can turn it off in the BIOS. Can be named "Hyperthreading" or "HT". Just have a look around the CPU/Chipset settings.![]()
My spec is in the Sig..
I am getting the odd stuttering whilst playing this... not sure if its lag within the game or dodgy drivers... Is there a quick and easy way of finding out ??
