Battlefield 3 RETAIL Performance Thread

Anyone know if the game uses renderaheadlimit like BC2?
And if so, what is the default for BF3?
And would reducing it also reduce CPU usage and increase GPU usage instead?

I have a massive problem where my 560Ti and i5 @4.4ghz run every game at max settings at 1680 x 1050, the beta fine too.....but not the retail version. I have tried various drivers and rolling back. You'll see it goes all weird and tries to catch up on itself, really annoying and means I can't fly anything or drive anything. Nor can I play big maps.

It starts with my trying to spawn... and it not responding, but catching up. Then when I shoot the gun you can see what happens.

Mostly happens on larger levels or when I come into contact with a vehicle - mostly of the flying variety. Then goes nuts when I try to respawn.

Any ideas? Settings are at high, with no HBAO, AA, V sync. Have tried a mixture and these settings run most of the other maps with only some stuttering, but still ruining this game for me after spending so much on my pc already.

Would changing the overclock make a difference maybe?

I would try a clean install Booner, it might be a few corrupt files causing it.

Just sat here downloading 11.4gb again :(:(

Getting around 100 - 110 fps average on my system. Built this PC for BF3 so was pretty disappointed when it wasn't as smooth as I'd like, so went out and got another 6970.
The crossfire is seemless the only way I know I'm using crossfire is because of the FPS. :)

System:
2500k @ 4.8GHz
6970 @ 950 / 1435 x2

I'm getting about 80-100fps depending on the map @ 1080p although I have stuck some settings on low mainly as it's a disadvantage to turn everything on full online, but overall i'm going for looks more than fps and very happy.

If I drop to 720p I can get 100-140fps which is great but feels like I lose some of the wow factor :D

What drivers is everyone using? I'm having trouble with the 285.38's with random crashes after getting told to go back to these.

Currently running a 460

Had a couple of mates requesting I give BF3 another go so d/loaded it again this weekend and tried it with a better Gcard (well I thought it would be) setup. Crossfired 5770's running CAP 4 with 11.10 drivers, everytime the game loaded and I joined I had a black screen and nothing else bar the sound effects / music. No overclock on the cards (Vapour X). Anyone any ideas ? Cheers

So how good can this game actually look? If I had the best G card and the ultimate pc there must be a point where the grafix says"that's all you're getting"

For information (dont know if it has already been mentioned) if you go to the console using ` key and type render.drawfps 1 it will then show you the fps as you play without the need for fraps :) and use ` key again to get out of console

What would sli 470s get with a core i7 at 3.8?
I run it on the settings below.

Cpu @4.2ghz, cards at 750/1500/1674. Getting 60-140fps averaging about 80, plays very well. Turning off aa deferred really helps with performance.

I've seeen quite a few people turn off the Ambient Occlusion, why is this?

because it looks cleaner with out it on

same as a couple of the other things . it actually makes the game look worse . adding blur crap like that is just to mask mistakes and not show up little edges and so on .

in mp you want the easiest cleanist look

turning off these features make it better
