Battlefield 3 technical thread. Post in here for help with crashing/lock ups etc.

I can't play BF3 anymore.

I've been playing it fine but as of yesterday it never joins any servers. Just fails with 'Could not connect to server' or 'Disconnected from server' or 'Could not get a connection to server'.

Any ideas?
 
i keep getting 'bf3 will not work' (or something) when trying to join servers. I usually get in on the 2nd attempt. bu its a pain a lot of servers dont que. i can play fine then bf3 for abit then stops working suddenly. *sigh*
 
I have fixed my issue with the error battlefield 3 has stopped working and the sound loop, found the answer from this forum post:

To enable the 3GB switch on Windows Vista™ or Windows 7:

This is working only for 32 Bit windows with 4 gbr am
1#Right-click Command Prompt(CMD.EXE) in the Accessories program group of the Start menu. Click Run as Administrator.

2#At the command prompt, enter "bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072"
3#Restart the computer.

bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072 - this is the comand to increas the memory/aplication to 3 gb instead of 2 gb

Obviously this applies to 32bit OS users ( I know I know why am I using 32bit, it came with a PC I had custom built in 2007 and never had the need to upgrade it)

Ive seen some users having this issue, disabling upnp on their routers has cured it for some.
 
Logitech mx518 mouse, windows 7, 64 bit, left mouse button will not fire weapon, tried everything i can think of, all other buttons work fine. mouse isn't knackered, any ideas ?
 
I'm having a weird crash that happens when i first try to join a server but then doesn't happen on the second try, but the MOST annoying problem i'm having is loading the maps.

It's taking up to a minute to load a new map, yet if the server loads the same map again it only takes about 10-15 seconds :confused:

I hate it considering i'm running an I7 2600k, 4 gb ddr3 and a 6990, it shouldn't be taking so long and i'm missing the start of the rounds :rolleyes:
 
I think I've managed to sort my mouse stutter problems, moving back to 11.9 with cap4. However I've had to drop my settings to high as ultra was struggling to push out 30fps on these drivers.

Hopefully 11.10 cap1 should fix the game once and for all, but in the mean time its worth trying 11.9 over 11.10 if your having stutter issues.

Have you tried to disable Upnp on your router yet? Lots of people have had this same issue in both bc2 and bf3, this solved it for me.
 
I've given up on it for now, I'll come back in a month and see if there's a patch out yet. I've got MW3 coming next week so that'll quench my blood lust.

same mouse, have an issue with one of the side buttons which i bound to prone. However sometimes in a round it just refuses to work.
 
I found ATI tray tools gave me BF3.exe errors. Never did this on any other game. Anyway I uninstalled it and then reinstalled to default settings and had no more BF3.exe errors.
 
If I do anything during the startup / loading dialogue in battlelog, Win 7 doesn't switch to BF3. It will say I'm playing but I'll still be on the desktop. Switching to BF3 displays the "BF3 has stopped working" error.
