Battlefield 3 technical thread. Post in here for help with crashing/lock ups etc.

This is such a global problem. It's hard to know if it's a driver issue or a problem with the game. I'm leaning towards the game, because it's happening on AMD and Nvidia.

i am a really sad panda right now! i have upgraded to a EVGA GTX570 Classified from a EVGA GTX470 SC, now BF3 keeps crashing! so not only does the servers drop i also get the game crashing to windows and locking up about every 20 mins, i have to go to task manager to end task. like i said this has only happend since i installed the new GPU so im assuming its omething to do with that.

my system specs are in my signature all driver are up to date and all BOIS's are too.

anyone have this issue or any fix?

If you have any of these installed then uninstall them.
EVGA OC Scanner and Precision tool.
Your crashing will now have been fixed & you owe me Cake

did a comple reinstall of windows and now no crashing and no green flicking , interesting ;)

It only crashes 1-2 times a night for me now but it does seem to crash every night. It mainly seems to crash for me either at the start of a round or at the end of a round - like just there we had just finished a round, waiting for it to load the next one . . . and it just never loads, stays on an all-black screen until you ctr+alt+del.

i dont mean to sound like a pansy and a complete noob but....
if i uninstall the precision tool then will the card just regulate its on temp properly??...

The tool is used for OCing the card the other tool is used to stress test your OC.

So if your not overclocking your card you can uninstall it & the card will regulate its own temps.

But if you still want to have such a thing installed use MSI Afterburner & MSI Kombuster they are the same as the EVGA tools but with MSI name on it with a few extras.

Lest we have found whats making your BF3 crash.

noooope! :( was working fine for about 40 mins... then it crashed to windows, i ended the tast then opened it up again and as soon as i got back in the game it crashed again! :(

I play on 2 servers, same maps, same ammount of players. One has started to kick me every 15 minutes. It feels like a graphic card issue i had before but its not. Im 100% sure me crashing to desktop is a server issue.

The crashing is so random. Sometimes I can play for a few hours with no problems at all and then the next time it crashes out (both SP and MP). Temps are absolutely fine too, so I know it is not overheating my GPU. Also tried default clock speeds and volts and problem still remains. Meh.

Sorry hildark7 no cake for me :(
I was having the same problem as you then I found the fix I told you & it worked for me.
Does it just happen when a new map is loading up?
