Would I be mistaken to think bf3 beta access went out with some COD blackops pre-orders?

Thanks

Yes. Yes you would.

The Call of Duty franchise is developed by Infinity Ward & Treyarch. Published by Activision.

The Battlefield franchise is developed by DICE & play4free (BF: Heroes, Battlefield: Play4Free) Published by EA.

BF3 Beta access went out with Medal of Honour pre-orders (if BF3 beta is released within a year)

Battlefield 3 unveiled at GDC

Maybe we can see if DICE stayed true to their word and made BF3 PC focused

The publisher confirmed to the media it will host an unveil event for the game on Mar. 1, 2011, taking place during the week of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Additionally, EA says it will also have new game announcements as well as hands-on time with many upcoming titles, including: Shadows of the Damned, Alice Madness Returns, Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, and Crysis 2.

Those who purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor this past fall received an invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta. Details about the beta's release date have not been announced.

Battlefield 3 is expected to ship in 2011.

So, 1st of March 2011 will either be the best ,PC games related, day in years for me.....or the worst.

Right now, i have no idea which it will be...

I've held off upgrading my rig for the last year because of this game, as this is what will decide what CPU & GPU comes next for me, so its quite an important game really.

If the game looks like its going to be nothing but a console port, despite what DICE have said, then i wont bother upgrading and will probably drift to console gaming when the PS4 and Xbox next comes around...

Anything less than 64 players will tell its own story as to the real lead development platform...

I dunno, if they go with even mroe deformable/destructible terrain, especially the "micro destruction" they mentioned in the FB2 engine (bullet holes in things instead of just a decal) think how much more there is for the server to do and keep track of compared to the old bf games?

think of how powerful some servers are :S

no excuse for not having the option larger maps with more player count and scaled down versions for those with servers which cant manage the real maps.

its ea thought so 32 player console derp sized maps

Battlefield 3 better have 64 players otherwise i'll be very disappointed.

Consoles can handle that amount of people (Look at MAG on the PS3) so there is no real excuse for them to use.

if its bf3 it must have
jets
command screen
squads
64 player server or bigger

if not its not bf3

Im hoping for all this and dice make the what ever changes needed to port from pc to ps3/xbox
