As good as friday will be i can see a repeat of the BC2 launch with EA backend (plasma?) falling over and servers crashing all over the place,

It will be playable but will probably be frustrating too

'As an aside for the tech-heads, we were able to play BF3 at a steady 30+fps on an i5 750 overlocked to 4.1GHz, 4Gb of DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel RAM and a Radeon HD 6850 with Catalyst driver set 11.9 with all settings on Ultra plus full antialiasing and anisotropic filtering with ambient occlusion set to HBAO but Vsync off. In other words, damn-near full eye candy. Not bad for a machine that's powerful but hardly bleeding-edge. Considering that BF3 looks significantly more impressive than any other game we've played on our rig this year - Witcher 2 arguably aside - that's all credit to DICE).' - cvg.com

Looks like my rig will do me just fine. Will lower settings to high to get 60+ fps, MP at anything less is rubbish.

This thread has consisted of:

- People asking Raven for his stats
- Discussing discount codes and posting EA chat logs
- System specs
- Alpha/Beta bugs/glitches

And what everyone else has mentioned.

I am wondering if anybody can help. I am not sure if my rig will be able to run BF3. Do I need to upgrade anything?

Crossfired 6990's.
2600k overclocked to 9Ghz.
16gb 200Mhz RAM.
1TB revodrive

:D

Dont get the wasting annual leave on a computer game - yea its going to be great but it'll still be great when you get home from work and then you can use annual leave for something worthy like going on holiday :p

Really? I take it you dont have a moaning wife and 18month old Baby.... The only chance i get to play games is on my day off when nobody's in the house! :p

I hate holidays, 99% of my annual leave for the past 3 years has been dedicated to renovating houses. Now that I own my own company my AL is still used to build stuff. I've not been out the UK since 2005, have no passport and have no intention of wasting money on holidays.

A couple of days off to myself sounds like bliss tbh.
