Why do people feel the need to dictate or pass judgement to people on what they should do or not do with THEIR OWN holiday and THEIR OWN lives.

The definition of holiday is infact; "A day free from work that one may spend at leisure" not a period of time one must spend abroad etc

I for one am looking forward to the days I've booked off to play BF3 AND take a break from working.

Lol, can't beleive there's so many people booking days off to play this game.
Don't get me wrong i'm looking forward to the game....but my god people....life....get one!!!
Only people i'd truly expect doing this is school kids skiving to play it.....like my step-son when COD MW2 came out....and boy did he get a roasting, when his maths failed him cos the amount of hours he said he'd been at home didn't tally to how many hours he'd actually logged on the game....silly boy!

I dunno man.
I have a life, but I'm booking Friday off for this.

Got 5 days to use up before the end of the year, already been on holiday this year and several festivals.

Gonna pull an all nighter with a mate to enjoy my number 1 hobby, I see no issue what-so-ever

Don't take Fox's comments to heart, he runs a fine line of cheeky tongue and dictatorial instruction! ;)

I've got not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 4 days booked off in the next 2 weeks. While it's not solely for BF3 I'm still excited.

To be fair if you announce that you are taking time off work just to play a video game you shouldn't really be surprised if some people take the **** out of you... It is pretty nerdy.

Not that is should matter to anyone what others think, just don't surprised if people find it a bit sad.

No offence taken :) - It was just unexpected to see those types of comments especially given the forum we're in :p

i dont think it's sad at all, no different than a women getting excited about buying a hand bag, or if someone getting their favourite cd to play. peoples conception of a day's leave is always different from one person to another

Friends wife's and girlfriends have no understanding of why they game as much.
Its just the future of social interaction and its highly fun, people take vacation for golf, traveling to other countries, and so on.
Taking time off for gaming is no surprise.

Don't expect anyone to understand it though :D

Yes but buying handbags and music are not universally considered nerdy hobbies in the same way gaming is.
