Just playing SP for the moment, not sure why, but I don't really want to risk MP, just in case...
I have to say, the production values and polish on this are astounding. The sound is without doubt the best I've ever heard on my PC.
I'm running a 2500k stock, 5850 stock, 8gb 1600mhz corsair vengeance, Xfi Titanium Fatility, Windows 7 fresh install. Settings are 1680x1050, all ultra, apart from no normal AA, low post AA, SSAO, and no vsync. It runs perfectly with no slowdowns at all and the graphics are excellent, beautiful in many places.
The SP atmosphere is amazing. It just 'feels' spot on. The earthquake mission teaser video that looked so awesome - it's frigging amazing!
When you shoot NPCs who are running the ragdoll/animations effect is amazing when they drop, I can't get over how real some of the animations look. It's like something out of Black Hawk Down (the film, not the rubbish PC game!).
There are some poor textures, which are noticeable, but it's hardly a problem as the lighting is perfect. So far the SP is probably the best war-based SP I've played.
I reckon it feels a bit like a combination of the shooters below:
40% COD MW/MW2/BO
25% GRAW1/2
20% BC2
10% MOH 2010
2.5% OFP1
2.5% Crysis
I have never before seen a game engine where your bullet hole decals reflect light differently around the pitted/dented hole area. Just try this on the first train level - shoot the metal surfaces inside the train and you'll see the tunnel lights reflect off the decals...
