Lol, mortar is fun. Though, it can leave you a bit exposed. Same with soflam as well if your manning it. Tbh, with me as a bodyguard, youd be safer with a blind man.:D Seine is a bad map for camping, id also prefer it as an inf only map. Seems better suited due to the close nature of the fighting in it.
 
Hmm... I think they might have done something about the colour issues on the patch. Was just playing one of the vanilla maps (Tehran) and the colours were all washed out like the B2K maps.

Love mortar on rush maps.. Gets rid of the pesky campers around the comms :p

Theres a horizontal? :o (this smiley totally doesn't represent the face I wanted lol.. :confused: that is better I guess) I only see just the one setting that goes up to 90 max, I have mine set to 85 though I dont think it changes unless you exit and reload the game

I use the BF3 settings editor program, there's a horizontal FOV thing in there :)
 
Is anyone else playing this on a 570? If so, I've found some pretty optimal settings at 1900x1200 res: set everything to ultra, turn of MSAA completely, leave FXAA on medium, turn effects quality to high.

On those settings I'm almost always at 60FPS and even when there's maximum chaos (64 man server, big map, explosions, smoke, etc) I only drop to the high 40s, and it still looks gorgeous. I can't tell the difference between high and medium FXAA and you still get all the high res textures and lighting effects.

You might be able to get away with more at 1080p, but I prefer 1200p because my monitor, for some strange reason, looks like pants at anything except 1900x1200 and 1600x1200.

I just ordered a 3tb hdd, all the better for recording bf3 vids on.

I have a 570 and that's the settings I'm using. I may try out the settings you recommended, but will it look much better?
 
Our server has had idiot after idiot after idiot today. I was sat here wondering wth is going on then I realised its half term.
 
Talking of settings, does anyone have suggestions for a GTX560?

Specfically the Anti-aliasing and using deferred or post, if using deferred, what level? Or, drop them all the try the FXAA injector?

Can't remember what I am specifically using (at work) but I think it is 4*MSAA, no post and other settings a mixture of med/high (shadows low). I am running at about 40-45 fps generally, drops to about 25-30 in high stress moments.

Some of it might be limited with my processor (E8400 @ 3ghz)
