Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Here was my attempt to use the M40 w/o scope. It wasn't easy, I got killed loads with plenty of revives.

I'm at 50/50 on that aussie guy if he's hacking or that's how good he is.

its called dragg shotting with sniper rifle. Some players do it different...aim at chest then small flick up, press the fire at the right time and HEADSHOT! I used to do it a lot in BF 2142 and BC2...I just cant get on with snipers in BF3 at all. SV98 in BC2 was great for it!!
I dont think its haxx...allthough some of the mag shots were pretty good!!!

Didn't find it that good. It has a slow rate of fire, but is accurate over longer distances than most assault rifles and quite powerful. But more often than not, you meet somebody up close rather than at range, and they will be carring the F2000 or the AEK and they will wipe the floor with the SA80 every single time and it will make you frustrated and wish you had something that spewed out a few more bullets.

It's a shame really, but some weapons are good on some maps, some are better on others. Choosing the right weapon for the right scenario is crucial. Sometimes I may go as assault, but then when there are a lot of people picking up the tanks I may go antitank etc.

For assault and engineer, you cant beat the m16a3 and the m4a1 carbine, (not the burst fire models though). Ive unlocked every other weapon for theese classes, but always go back to theese two.
 
Didn't realise it was hardcore, this will take a bit of getting used to, but i didn't enjoy the m320 whoring on bazaar.

AEK and AS Val respectively for me, until the supressor + foregrip nerf that is :/
 
MrLol take it u never played quake 3? The aiming required in bf3 doesnt even touch the surface of what was needed in osp tdm, rocket arena 3! Flick shots or as u call it snap shots were a requirement to be even half decent at quake! a lot of people strafe aimed aswell which that Aussie guy seems to do a lot with the mag but the people he plays against are very very poor seen quicker reactions in a old people's home ffs!

Id be more then happy to make a video if someone tells me how to do get good quality and what's best program settings etc to use! I made one video ages ago of me flying around in a littlebird but the quality was poor so I gave up!

And if I did do one it would mostly be infantry with a bit of vehicles minus jets tho as I'm only just starting to good in them but tanks viper etc ill throw in!
 
Got my ass whooped just now on matts server, decided to go with the sv98. Spawn, die, rinse and repeat. Dont think i stayed alive for much more than 6-7 seconds. The 2 kills i did manage were done with a single shot, 2 headshots for one round is always nice. But the moral of the story, dont bring a bolt gun to metro.:D

Just a heads up Wes its a 'the way its meant to be played' & 'all weapons allowed' server so you might want to bare that in mind before joining. :)

Lol. Yep there was a few guys who shed a few tears as usual. I still can't fathom how people can join an all weapons allowed server then proceed to moan about people using said weapons. (mainly M320/RPG/USAS)

Even worse is its metro. Everyone knows the score with metro. The marmite map of BF3.

Hey setter, nice to see you on the server. I remember headshoting you from range with my L85 Acog. :)
 
Been on a few nights mate, mostly late on. I do indeed remember your L85 kill, though i got popped an awful lot by M98 users, sooo want that weapon myself as it's great for sniper only servers, where ultra long range kills are the order of the day. Hence ive been playing a bit more recon. Tbh im terrible with the bolt action weapons, the ol SKS is a beauty though.
