Hit reg in bfbc2 is way ahead of bf3 for me. To score a hit on someone in bf3, most times i have to aim behind them as i see them on screen. At least in bfbc2, you can lead the target, (ie shoot in front of them as theyre moving).

Didn't they increase the hit box size when people were sprinting/running to make easier to hit them?

You could stand half the distance with a sniper rifle aimed solidly at the head and suppression will see your bullet leave the barrel at some crazy 30 degree angle. FPS games already diminished the skill curve in recent years when they started toning down recoil to none existent levels, but I guess that wasn't enough, so now actively punishing people who can aim / react is the only way to help your low skilled playerbase :(

I would not say recoil is dumbed down in BF3, the recoil is actually pretty damn realistic.

Also, the suppression effect is working as intended. I am actually now able to suppress snipers where-as before you would be laying down suppressing fire, yet still just get sniped in the face.

You just have to adjust tactics slightly and work as a team!

I was using suppression fire on two snipers, I still got sniped in the face one hit and there were many times I got NO suppression points. Not sure what was going on

Not sure I like the new patch either. Seems like close range I always get cained even if I shoot the other person 2/3 times chest height or above. I'm using the AN-94 so perhaps that's a bad gun for close quarters. It's deadly at long range though.

Not sure what was going on there, maybe they had suppression resistance on?

I've found in general suppression a lot more effective, and with the added accuracy of the bipod I'm really loving support.

Which sight you using with the AN-94? It's a beast of a weapon, my fav sight is probably the kobra.

It does suffer in close range slightly, as obviously you are gonna be using it in 2 round burst.

You could try switching it to full auto while on the move? As I read that they increased the ROF when in full auto, saying that I never do this, I will usually just click like a mad man at close range.

This game is **** now in close combat. I use the M416 with Red Dot and all I can see is a blur...

It's done nothing but promote camping in a corner with an LMG/Bipod and just spraying it everywhere.

Quite like the changes, things I'd change:

- normal pistols (M9, Mp443) seem to be less effective now
- tanks need to be able to withstand 3/4 rpgs not just 2
- lower the amount of M320 frags

Tank damage is a tough one though. If there's loads of engineers in one area then yeah a tank should technically get cained pretty quickly, but when it's just you its normally impossible to have enough time to get 4/5 rpgs on one tank, especially with reactive armour.

I use the PSO-1 at the moment. May change to the kobra actually as it would be handier at close range.

Embedded for you. You will get lots more views this way.

Didn't realise how much destruction you can actually do to random buildings, but I agree with the guy in the other thread as in too much slo-mo. :)

You're accuracy must be in the gutters! :p

The suppression needs some serious toning down.

Feel as if I'm playing the game in black and white these days.

Yet more dumbing down for the people that cant aim.
I cant remember another game where you get points for missing things.

You are missing the point of the supression mechanic.

The game isnt rewarding you for missing your target; it's providing an incentive for those who care about score to use the machine guns as intended. It's not "spray and pray" because if you're performing covering fire properly, you probably aren't aiming to kill anyone anyway.

I agree that its been way overdone since the patch, but please stop dismissing its intention as no more than a crutch for poor players because it isnt. There's more to this game than just killing your enemies, and sometimes being able to ensure they don't shoot back is just as valuable and valid a tactic.

Some of us would still supress enemies with the machine gun whether we got 50 points for it as not. Unfortunately, the majority of gamers seem to be in it only for the score they achieve and not the experience of playing, so Dice have introduced a reward which guides these players into effective use of an LMG.

This is the problem i have with unlocks in the game, its fine once you unlocked all the stuff you want, but upto that point, getting ur ass handed to you by someone with superior equipment, isnt much fun, so you just wana get points so you can level the playing field then go off and do what you want. Now my engineer is fully unlocked i dont mind going off and playing for fun not points

This is based entirely on my own experience :P

Just had a crash which rebooted my pc whilst playing bf3 just now. No idea if its cos of bf3 but i never get them crashes like that for years now. Maybe it is because i didnt turn pc off just used sleep mode for the last week tho i duno.

Btw anyone know how to get the fov to work in mp because i have it set to 90 but i highly doubt it is using 90 because the view seems really close to me and i hate it, its like what ud expect to look like when console gaming. I think the fov setting is for sp only but not tested yet but if anyone knows how to make it so the fov works i.e gun isnt massive in front of ya and things really close to you then plz let me know.

Duno why this is bothering me now. Maybe its cos i took a break from bf3 and coming back it just feels weird.

The 93r pistol or whatever its called from the coop unlock is brutal with this patch. Running up the stairs on metro with it and I wiped up 7 people before I was even noticed. Deadly accurate, burst fire and powerful, plus reloads very quickly :D

Yes but i dont think the fov setting in options works for mp i think i read that its for sp only. Default is 75 i believe and i have it set to 90 and i dont think it changed at all and still looks zoomed in.
