Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

What annoys me the most is that there isn't even a way of getting messages from the commo rose to appear along the side along with chat (although they would usually be lost to the inane whining that seems to come hand in hand with BF3). 2142 had them appear - if I was in a squad I'd know exactly when one of my squadmates needed ammo/medic etc.

2142 also had a darnsight more teamwork, even on public servers. I'd usually be able to jump onto a server and find myself a good squad that I could have some storming rounds with. BF3 is just infected by CoD/console-itis. Fingers crossed most people will get bored of it and then the fans of the Battlefield series will come back in 6 months time or so and we'll start seeing the 2142 teamwork coming back, although nothing will beat titan mode (imo).

Yup this is why I still hate the commo-rose. You can barely hear the people asking for stuff especially when you got jets etc. flying over you or/and gunfire going off etc.

As for team work. Do you play on hardcore? If yes then give softcore a try, the amount of team work is great for it :) Hardcore is truly dreadful when it comes to teamwork, even for the basic things like revives and ammo/med packs. I have had more teamwork since the patch on softcore than 2 weeks worth of hardcore :p

Only softcore unless I'm playing with my old 2142 clan buddies. Unfortunately they can't get on all that often any more, which means I'm left with pubbie teamwork which seems to amount to revives in awkward places but little else when actually trying to do something useful (outside of Metro, in which case they won't stay protecting B, but will try and take the final flag and usually lose one or both of the others.....).

Hard to tell if he is a cheater as all he does is play metro 64 :p, I don't think he is personally (only has one sniper rifle which has that headshot/kill % value you posted, seen plenty of legit players that are genuinely very good at getting headshots with sniper rifles) or he is just very good at hiding his cheats :p

I never go on 64 player metro (unless I really want to unlock something) as that is where you encounter most of the cheaters.


When you see reports like this it does make you think twice though, but some others have high scores in them and they don't look like cheaters, plus it is 1500 Tickets after all :p:

He could just be camping in a corner with a machine gun and spamming grenades etc. and when he gets killed, he gets revived again meaning that death didn't count (which happens a lot on metro, lol).

Having terrible reg/lag/banding just now.

In game ping of 61, hardly any shots were registering for the first 10 mins of the round. Managed to garner a few kills, but the game felt like a slideshow. People warping all over the shop. In round the container area, every time an enemy player came into my fov, everything starts stuttering.
 
That is SCARY.

I was on the bog and thinking how awesome it would be if VIP stuff put VIP members to front of queues instead of kicking someone from the server.

Much better.

I was getting it last night with 37 ping and no fluctuations in ping. Running, jumping etc yet revives were working fine. O_o
 
Sometimes after having survived intense action (e.g from heli/jet bombardment or tank shell), I often hear one or two sound of RPGs flying about, even though I don't see any:p
 
has anybody been able to form an opinnion over the best loadout for assault rifles yet ?

Previously ForeGrip + silencer ruled all. But they've now added an accuracy penalty when using the foregrip at long range and reduced the sway reduction.
