It doesn't require more skill as it comes down to one difference that becomes more apparent the lower (or higher) hp pools are. Higher HP pools reward players with more consistent aim, that can not only just hit the target but land headshots / upper chest shots more frequently. Lower HP pools reward who shoots first, with less emphasis on aim as you merely have to hit the target, not hit it anywhere in particular.

When you know you have good enough aim to take people on, you tend to start playing more aggressively, knowing rushing someone will probably have you come out on top. Hardcore undermines this, resulting in a game favouring a more campy style of play, which most skilled players aren't going to want anything to do with.

Then games aren't balanced for hardcore, it's an arbitrary change applied to the base game mode. So certain weapons become quite silly, some become quite pointless -- which otherwise filled valid roles in normal.

Play whichever you want, nobody should care what mode anyone else is playing on. Just know if you start dropping softcore bombs and otherwise declaring your mode superior in skill, people are going to call you on it -- I still remember a post from another forum about CoD4 when hardcore mode has just been introduced to the masses, I'm paraphrasing:

"The genius of this mode is in the name, they make the noobs playing the noob mode created for them think they're playing something superior"

Couldn't be anymore right.

Some of what u say is true but take for example a silenced sub machine gun, in my case a G36 with foregrip. On normal at aprox 40m from on top of a silo to the warehouse roof on damavand peak each kill was taking approx 8 hits! Obvioulsy it will take skill to place 8 hits on target and have enough shots left in ur magazine for a second kill, but when it is that unreaslistically bs to try take someone down that they can just run away after 6/7 hits and heal is abismal and unfortunately is the only reason I dont play normal.

Yes in hardcore u can get killed by a stray bullet whereas this is 99% not likely to happen in normal but at least if u aim and hit ur target 1-3 times it is down. Hardcore does lead to frustrating situations/camp-offs in some of the maps but this is ultimately DICE's fault for not building in flanking routes (Metro I'm thinking specifically about you  :p).

Each to their own but the "one mode requires moar skillz than the other" is bs, it just depends on playing style.

Quoted for truth, I suck on both modes but prefer being bad (as in bad bad not bad good) in hardcore :D
Same here lol, i find that in normal i have to be a lot more accurate, whereas in hardcore taking people down is a lot easier. I can enjoy either mode tbh.

i did not notice anything extra in my pay pack after the latest rounds
My pay pack at work seems to get lower every week.:D

But like you say, i havent noticed any difference in scores.
