On "kiddy mode" knifing people is so much easier as well you can run at them taking rounds to the face and still get a knife kill.

yep, i agree...

i play this 'normal mode' team death match when our server is queued and i always endup with a k/d of 4 or 5 and well over 50 kills. you can take 3/4 of a clip and then go and heal.

Soflam is so overpowered. Was playing Sharqi earlier and a well placed soflam was just destroying our heli before it could even take off with 3 or 4 missiles inbound instantly. No way to beat it as even when you do get off the ground it's range plus the range of javelins when locked on is infinite. Add to that the fact that it takes a ridiculous amount of hits to destroy, a single squad can dominate a 64 player map from a spawn beacon on an unassailable building.

Just one more game flaw to add to the pile...

Yes there is.

A SOFLAM can lock onto it and destroy it from quite some range. "not a lot of people know tat" as the catch phrase goes. Destroying enemy equipment is one of its primary functions along with spotting. It can take out spawn beacons and TUGS devices too.

It's what I do when a javelin and SOFLAM squad set up shop

indeed. yes hardcore can bring the campers to the party but by and large you can run around like that on a map like metro. no chance

Hardcore games are always camp-a-thons as there's no kill cam, no 3D spotting and people die so much more easily meaning who usually shoots first wins

That's why it's called hardcore.

You have to move in cover, not run down the road like a crazy person, treat it like real war and you do fine. (that does not mean you have to camp)

You mean grab a copy of the millets catalogue, and wait for somebody to run by you ?

Moving only occasionally to find a better spot to knock yourself up a brew of course ;)

I haven't timed it but it always seems dead-on around 20-25 minutes into a game then the connection times out, 5 seconds later the game quits to the browser with the message 'you have been disconnected from EA'

That's if I can even get into a game in the first place. Feels like a lottery when I decide to play a game. Some times I get into a game and play for 20minutes or othertimes (mostly) I can't even load the level.

I've had chronic problems with this game since launch and it's just gotten worse....

Here you go mate, give this a try, it works flawlessly for me.

As Jimlad said, yeah, it seems to be a UPnP problem.

Hope it works! Report back whatever happens

Hardcore is awesome for anything other then jets!

once ur used to flying jets in 3rd person view going onto hardcore does ya head in :(

Dice themselves confirmed that hardcore is easier . the end.

easier for what? getting kills? obviously your opponent has less health..

on the flipside you also have less health so will also die much more easily than im normal mode.

imo hardcore requires more skill. when i moved from normal to hard i was just dieng every 2 seconds. it forces you to think about what you do, how to use the terrain, how to spot before being spotted etc. in normal i can just rambo and rack up the kills whereas in hardcore the odd bullet and your dead.

It doesn't require more skill as it comes down to one difference that becomes more apparent the lower (or higher) hp pools are. Higher HP pools reward players with more consistent aim, that can not only just hit the target but land headshots / upper chest shots more frequently. Lower HP pools reward who shoots first, with less emphasis on aim as you merely have to hit the target, not hit it anywhere in particular.

When you know you have good enough aim to take people on, you tend to start playing more aggressively, knowing rushing someone will probably have you come out on top. Hardcore undermines this, resulting in a game favouring a more campy style of play, which most skilled players aren't going to want anything to do with.

Then games aren't balanced for hardcore, it's an arbitrary change applied to the base game mode. So certain weapons become quite silly, some become quite pointless -- which otherwise filled valid roles in normal.

Play whichever you want, nobody should care what mode anyone else is playing on. Just know if you start dropping softcore bombs and otherwise declaring your mode superior in skill, people are going to call you on it -- I still remember a post from another forum about CoD4 when hardcore mode has just been introduced to the masses, I'm paraphrasing:

"The genius of this mode is in the name, they make the noobs playing the noob mode created for them think they're playing something superior"

Couldn't be anymore right.
