Was so looking forward to playing too. Oh well!Gutted on 1meg, I thought I had it bad here. Trying to find a game I have that i'd like to play in the mean time

My d/l speed is around 1.1mb not 200k but for some reason the download never went over 200k. At all. Must have been a strain on the servers.
I live a couple of miles in the wrong direction for BT Infinity so i have to make do with 10-11mb Sky LLU. So depressing going to my mates house and seeing him with 65mb down and 10mb up.
Better than most but LLU has only been released on my exchange in the last 12-18 months. Had to make do with ADSLMax 6-7mb before that. Sky on the whole been pretty good in all fairness, a few hiccups but thats to be expected.
Cant believe that the 6gb download wasnt a preload for the end game pack. At least it is downloading 4gb at 1.1mb this time

I've gotta say, that "Fatal Drop" assignment is absolutely rock hard and frustrating as hell. Some of these assignments really are a chore.
"Destroy an airdropped IFV with another airdropped IFV".
Hmmm. I've done the other parts easily enough, this isn't ordinarily difficult, but finding anothe IFV is a right chore and no fun at all. Unfortunately I need to do this to unlock the 1911 pistol with torch and silencer....
I anticipate many a dull hour trying to complete this. The other assignments that are a totally boring joke are the mobile artillery...what's the point.

i've been playing this since it came out, but since the endgame DLC came out i've been getting this weird bug where I spawn without a gun, seems like a popular problem - nothing I do fixes it and the game crashes when I quit,

Could somebody please give me some advice as to how I can stop being so embarrassingly bad at this game? I run around trying to kill people and end up just getting shot myself... every time. I'm reasonable at COD and other online FPS but appalling at BF3. I want to enjoy the game but can't at my current ability level! TIA

I DID NOT REALISE IT WAS A PATCH WHEN I CALLED IT A 6GB PATCH!!!! SILLY ME
Maybe you neglected to appreciate the point of what the hell was in the patch if it was 6GB, more than the DLC itself of 4GB. And, secondly, how the hell have DICE _ADDED_ 10GB of data to the BF3 footprint.
Would be nice to be able to delete the 6GB Battlefield 3\Update\Patch folder but seemingly these files are not merged with the base game and just sit there indefinitely.

i'm an average player, so hopefully some decent ones will offer clearer advice, but from what i've picked up so far :
1) stop running around for starters
, if your running chances of aiming/shooting accurately are stuffed, try to move slowly, keep an eye on your mini map for enemies.also if you come face to face with an enemy don't try and scope them, as the delay is likely to get you killed
.2) unless someone has there back to you assume they have spotted you and scoped onto you, so dont try to shoot it out, try and work another position.
3) if you see sniper scope glint or laser site glare HIDE.
4) if you peak round a corner and get shot at dont repeak straight away cos they more than likely have you lined up for a kill next time you pop your head out.
5) settings in the game (the network slider, better set as close to the left as it can go as from what i've read it helps spot people quicker).
6) have you got the game running at 60fps constant, if it drops to much turn off graphics settings etc to get it as close as you can.
7) even if your "hidden" behind a corner remember a part of your body might be sticking out, specially your head if your prone or crouched, so people can pick you off.
8) pick a weapon and stick to it and get use, unless you have a problem with it run as a medic so at least you can heal yourself.
9) check out youtube, some useful guides on there that might help.
hopefully people will clear up any bad advice i might have offered, apologies for that

Add 'turn on colourblind mode
done this over the last few days, helps a lot! just adds a small black outline to text and objectives etc easier to see in big games
