The digital download copy should be there for low cost, not convenience. It takes most people less time to go into town (and even less to have a copy drop on your doormat on the day of release whilst you are at work) than it does to download a 3Gb game anyway, and with a digital download you get less product, delivered in a far cheaper way, with far less overheads.

Everything about digital distribution, from the lack of a box, manual, etc etc to the lack of retail stores, distribution networks, is low cost. Except the price.

Therefore I always buy retail boxed products, partly because I prefer to get more and have a nice box for my shelf but also partly because I strongly disagree with the pricing models.

Digital Distribution has allowed companies like EA to slash cost and at the same time, hike price. And you all lap it up. No wonder they do it - supply and demand.

I think you're underestimating how valuable the perceived effort of leaving the house is for some people, it's well worth a few quid especially if you've, god forbid, got to park and walk to the shop.

The overhead for EA making a retail copy is probably a lot higher than sticking it on Origin but as you said, supply and demand. People are willing to pay & EA are willing to supply at whatever cost they can get away with, they are after all, a business.

Don't know what to say to that really about you're second point as it seems to answered itself - different strokes for different folks. Personally I'll buy either but will use Digital Distribution where possible mainly for removal of DRM on older games & knowing there's a server somewhere with my game on that I can get at where-ever is nice.

Walkerie - obvious troll is obvious.

Don't even bother responding in future, ignore + move on.

I keep seeing people responding to the raven fellow, please don't. Just report the trolling/flaming & again, ignore + move on.

Better forum for everyone that way :)

That will should run it. I assume the CPU is overclocked?

Upgrades wise graphics card would be my first call. GTX 560/570/580 depending on budget :).
The only thing id consider upgrading would be the gpu, but as others have said, wait to see how the beta performs before deciding which, apparently new gpu's are slated for release round the same time as bf3. The cpu is fine, an i7 particularly when oc'd will be a fantastic chip for gaming for quite a while. 4ghz is practically a given on theese cpu's.
