I played it most nights for 2h plus from 2005 to 2008, some weekends I'd be on for 6 hours plus a day. My pace slowed down in 2008 till when I barely played it at all. I think I've been on it once this year and less than 10 times last year.

I quit it in the end due to the number of hackers and stats padders, plus I couldn't find any decent clans or servers to play on any more.

I clocked up 550hours+ I think….. I started playing it in 07 but tbh I’d have done the same, almost cost me my marriage haha (was defo worth it tho)

I dunno, the alpha was stunning. Once in a while a game comes along and pushes all the buttons. The only problem with it is the lack of server side client, it will cost a small fortune to run a 64 man server especially with the certified hosting partners being useless as there is no competition for them.

80p a slot I recon. My clan will be getting a 64 man server.

Well Battlefield 3 was on show Sunday at i43...I queued but unfortunately did not hang around to get a go due to the TF2 finals.

I did manage to stand behind some people and watch the game play. Without first hand experience of actually playing it appears to be another FPS but it seemed very detailed in graphics. To be honest it reminded me of COD...just a little bit more detailed and realistic it seemed.

I got no confirmation on Beta dates or actual game features...so I guess we will have to wait and see

I can tell you first hand having played, all the COD's, all the BF's and Alpha from day1 + SQDM at i43...

Its honestly nothing like COD and if it is then its only taken the best bits, its very much stayed loyal to the BF series and has that whole build up to a kill feeling, unlike COD where you throw a nade in the air and chances are it will kill some one.

If you were impressed with the graphics at iseries then you were deceived wahaha... believe it or not they were actually rubbish in comparison, as the demo they showed SQDM was played on under-spec'd PC either that or didn't optimize the game prior to sending it as the FPS was rubbish so was the level of detail they set it at.

Interesting… One of the DICE dev’s (Gustav Halling) just posted his new #BF3 rig…..

I7-2600k
8GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair vengeance
MSI z68a GD80(Gen 3)
2x ATI 6870’s

Pretty obvious tho.... Battlefield Dev's seem to prefer ATI!

I have a BF3 question. I am about to pre order and would like to join a clan but I will only be casual. Would this stop me from joining a clan?

Also how do you guys find clans?

Yeah as Wes' said.

We're a casual 18+ clan with hardcore aspects. Tbh as it stands now we have too many people signed up to play in matches etc so the casual aspect is something we can definately offer. We look for quality not quantity mind you, we dont care about how good some1 can play we prefer the easy going gamer.

I run the clan along with 3 others, i wont have a lot of time to play due to a 17month old daughter and wife ;) ..however few of our guys can dedicate a lot more time than me, so we have best of both worlds.
