Oh you mean like those guys camped 10 miles away with LMGs aimed down the sights tap/burst shooting which makes them superior to every other gun in every way? Clip size, accuracy, damage? All better. And of course they sit on medkits to keep themselves healed from minor injuries. Very realistic...

And your arguement is? And heavy metal is largest map, which is around 2km(?) uncap to uncap. And the bullet speed of a pistol 900m/s. Go figure.

It is realistic, bullet trajectory (which is affected by gravity) will follow the distance of any map until stopped by your head or otherwise, bullets do tend to fly for quite some time y'know. That's why you can get ridiculous pistol/LMG shots.

Or should we fake it and alter it completely so that bullets/explosives do nothing to everyone and have every one jumping around with rocket launchers ala quake?

Huh? Whats that got to do with what i said or what i was responding to?

This has nothing to do with flight time or the (lack of) bullet drop for regular weapons. This is to do with accuracy aimed down the sights which for all weapons is ridiculous at long range. Quick tapping weapons should not provide a stream of perfect accuracy bullets at long ranges no more than being able to hipfire should be extremely accurate at mid range. It almost defeats the point of sniper rifles sometimes.

Will that add up to the current cost then?

I guess it could be depends when and if they ever release the BC2 maps for BF3. If the standard edition is going to be £29.99 anyway then may as well buy the £39.99 (£29.99 with £10 voucher) for the same price and with the limited edition content.

Dont know if this has been mentioned but does anyone know anything about the medal of honor beta invites for battlefield 3?

If you can't figure out why it's related I'm not going to answer it for you. It's fairly obvious.

Probably for the best cos it didn't look like you had anything worth reading to say anyway. A bullet can travel 2km? Whats that got to do with perfect accuracy?

Effective range of pistols is like 50m.

You'd have to fire a pistol at artillery style angles tp get it that fire.

The world record distance kill for ages was held with a machine gun. They are just as accurate as sniper rifles.

lulwut.

dont suppose youve got a link to the story?

i just cant believe your saying a "machine gun" usually using 5.56/7.62 hit a traget further away than a .50cal sniper such as the barret or macmillan tac 50 (which holds the record)

it was a modified m2 that fired in single shot and he used the mechanisms on the tripod to aim, not manually holding it and aiming.

The M2 is ****ing huge compared the the lmg's in the game.

More like 150...

also depends on the pistol/caliber etc.

for the m9, and that's for soldiers etc.

or are you talking about insanely well trained sports man, because yeah their effective range will be higher with custom modded match pistols in ideal conditions.

M2 as a sniper rifle

The M2 machine gun has also been used as a long-range sniper rifle, when equipped with a telescopic sight. Soldiers during the Korean War used scoped M2s in the role of a sniper rifle, but the practice was most notably used by US Marine Corps sniper Carlos Hathcock during the Vietnam War. Using an Unertl telescopic sight and a mounting bracket of his own design, Hathcock could quickly convert the M2 into a sniper rifle, using the traversing-and-elevating (T&E) mechanism attached to the tripod to assist in aiming at stationary targets. When firing semi-automatically, Hathcock hit man-size targets beyond 2000 yards—twice the range of a standard-caliber sniper rifle of the time (a .30-06 Winchester Model 70). In fact, Hathcock set the record for the longest confirmed kill at 2,460 yards or 1.3 miles (2,250 m), a record which stood until 2002.[43][44]

The m9 is not used by british forces  and just because somones a soldier doesnt mean there a great shot, sure they have the training to back them up and the range time but a civvy can easily be a better shot with some practice. No im talking about somones who's had some range time not a lot but has fired a fair few rounds.Nope im not talking about modded pistols, sig p226/beretta m9/ browning.
