Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Only had 1 full round so far, was just getting into it when the server crashed... doh!

Game felt pretty good though. Had to have the lean mechanic explained to me because I didn't quite believe it was just a contextual right click. Seems to work pretty nicely if a little.. simple. Map seems good, the major destruction changes are nice but I don't want them triggered every round. The scale is monstrous, but it does leave some areas feeling a bit bland.

My 560ti is proving its worth still. It auto'd to high quality, which was pretty nice at 1680x1050.

Still not sure whether to upgrade the PC or get it on the next-gen consoles.

Scratch that it now just sits on loading even though I can hear people spawn and move next to me.

Give up for tonight :p

For those suffering the black "loading" screen - Try joining a game as a spectator then trying to join a sever again. Worked for me.

If this beta is indicative of final performance on my 680s in SLI, then the first thing I will do on release is sell my copy.

On a general gameplay level, really not feeling that chaotic sense of battle that BF3 captured so well. The level itself seems dull and the changes to core systems annoying.

Of course, my technical issues are painting an overall poor impression for me, but I think that with the amount of lag and stutter, it is pretty justified for now.

Really liking how team players are rewarded FAR more, you could just run around taking flags and not get any kill yet still come in the top 3

I have only played about 2 hours but I am enjoying it so far. It feels similar to BF3 which is no problem for me as I enjoyed the infantry combat of 3. I also like that they have taken the destruction up a notch from 3, even though I know the middle building fall is scripted it still looks cool.

Hmmm, its OK. The building coming down so quickly ruins the map IMO. Way way too much fog. Still judging atm.... undecided - hasn't really impressed me hugely tbh.

Wont be buying this game, too much like Bf3, nothing but a shiny piece of turd.
Wait a couple of months and everyone will be moaning about this and that blah blah blah.

Unfortunately that's how I feel, I want it because i'll probably enjoy it, but I resent having to spend that much on it! If they did a better pre-release deal on it with premium I'd have ordered it by now but its too much money for me to drop on a maybe :(

Not fussy about it one way or the other, BF3 I felt was more of a must buy at the time. This I could take it or leave it, leaning more towards leave it, just bored of gaming in general.

I think the map is very uninspiring and the graphics are very grey, even on Ultra. Hope its not like this on release.

I just had an awesome match!

May well buy the game soon, much better than BF3 for me :)

Where's the cheapest place to buy BF4?

I've already bought it, thanks to viva la mexico but i agree enjoying it a lot more.

Although i liked BF3 i felt it lacked compared to BF2/BC2 and feel that this is closer to them while still keeping and using BF3 bits and bobs.
