Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

I know this has been done to death, but can anyone clarify for me...

Game alone comes with its basic self, and china rising map.

Premium comes with 5 additional maps? I saw it mention "you access 2 weeks before"... hmm does that mean its £25 more just to get the 5 maps 2 weeks before everyone else?

Just trying to see if its worth the extra!
 
I just had a game of silky smooth >150fps Ultra BF3 and honestly I prefer BF4. Why?

Sun tint.
Hit boxes.
I thought the hitboxes on BF4 were bad (and I don't rank up very quickly) but I just played a round of normal Noshair Canals on BF3 and they were all over the place. The common scenario is it takes me a whole mag to kill someone but takes them 2 bullets to kill me, or I put half a mag into them and they kill me in one bullet and they have 100% health! This is why I stick to HC...

If BF4 ends up like this then it is pointless to play it, I just upset people with my epic rage on teamspeak.
 
I just hope the hit reg. remains as good as this! Probably be the same as bf 3 though i..e superb in alpha, beta but nowhere as good in the final :(

Game alone comes with the first DLC, China Rising (4 maps).
Premium comes with 5 DLC's (not maps) which each contain 4 maps, making 20 maps in total. They will be released over the next year and a bit after the game releases. With premium you get 2 weeks early access to the DLC's. You also get other stuff with premium such as double-XP weekends and unique dog tags.

Simply put, the 5 DLC's:
China Rising
Second Assault
Naval Strike
Dragon's Teeth
Final Stand

Each of those contain 4 new maps as well as guns, vehicles and the lot.

With premium you are basically pre-purchasing all 5 DLC's, and in my opinion that deal posted above for BF4 with premium for £55 is amazing. The game alone is £30, plus £12 for each DLC if bought separately makes £90 in total; that's what makes it such a good deal.

Pre-ordering the base game will only include the first of the 5 DLC's, China Rising.

Although i liked BF3 i felt it lacked compared to BF2/BC2 and feel that this is closer to them while still keeping and using BF3 bits and bobs.

Worked out at £43-44 for Standard + Premium.

No idea if it still works, just i know many people didn't want to go down that route.
 
I hope to God that my 40mbit fibre is up and working properly before release otherwise I am going to have a very distraught 4 days downloading!
 
Maybe its just me but i cant get into this lol. been playing counterstrike for so many years now and i still play source a lot. I dunno i guess i just cant get into the looking down the sight to aim thing and getting shot from no where without seeing anyone lol. I like the slowness of cs more and picking out the headshots on simple maps. Maybe id enjoy it more once iv got used to the map more i dunno.

netcode is improved.
still isnt superb but works much better than bf3
 
just had an epic game there!

TBH, I quite like the way people camp on the roofs as they don't pay attention to people parachuting in and are all bunched together at one side :D :o Got a 7 kill streak purely becaue of them noobs :D

Plus me and another squad member went up to one of the buildings and wiped out about 9 people.

People are now planting c4 at the elevator door so just be careful, best way is to just use a chopper and jump out.



Oh and hackusations have begun! :rolleyes:

Squads definitely seem to be playing together a lot more often too.
 
I think the Machine Guns mounted on the MBT's are pretty weak compared to BF3/BFBC2. :/

With the hype that you can destroy more in BF4 and that every battle won't be the same again, it's turns out.. the battle is always the same, the building is brought down by the same 4 pillers as the last game and the building falls down in the same way as the last game, lastly the ruins of the building is the same.

Personally, the infantry game feels COD like, the infantry move too fast and the weapons feel weak compared to the previous versions. The drop on the MBT cannons is a joke/bug I hope.

The game play is enjoyable though.

tbh this is better then bf3 thats all i care about right now.

The infrantry warfare is pretty decent a few tweaks here and there its not perfect but hell it feels more like battlefield then bf3 ever did.
 
Love offensive Recon.

Captured 8 flags, 23/13 K/D, 8078 score and got the handgun expert award.

Also had an engineer running in circles around my tank with the repair tool, so i got out, tank blew up, dropped c4, and then ran away as he was still going around in circles looking for me, then boom.

You shoot the pillars at the bottom front of the skyscraper, and then it topples, but the animation never changes.

I found the BF3 Beta was very demanding, but still ran like you would expect a normal game to, once settings were adjusted. The difference between that beta and this one IMO are miles and miles apart.
