Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Server crashing every map change. Then you have to QUEUE when there is only 5 ppl in there. Epic work. How retarded do you have to be to release a patch that breaks more than it fixes? Agile software methodology right here boys!

lol, iv just been playing with you :D, was you inteh CQ247 server about 5 minutes ago ?

Anyone else having issues downloading the patch? Normally Origin is maxing our my connection but today the download is going to take over 9 hours.

What the hell?

The attack jet main canon is better than ALL OTHER AIR BASED GUNS. It has the best air to air AND air to surface capabilities.

The stealth jet is weak and pointless.

You can unlock guided missiles and 30mm for the stealth jet, this means you can load it out just like an attack jet. This what I do, big advantage for the team I am on because they then effectively get 2 attack jets versus 1 and 1 waste of space :D

I'm really sad to see BF4 fail.. Cod is terrible so no proper FPS game for me :(

Its not failing, its just not ready yet. They will get there especially now that since server R8 has a dev/debug layer to it. That's why we have a resolution to today's issues so fast.

Thanks for all the posts about my BSOD. Running AIDA64 stability test at the moment as I heard it's one of the toughest. 30mins in and stable. Temps on each core peaking at about 60c. VCore in CPUID @ 1.278v. Will leave it running for a little while longer and hope this was just some random error that'll never happen again. Most of this PC is new... bar the PSU which is about 5 years old now.

Still seeing server crash reports even after live score being switched off, unless DICE haven't switched it off completely yet. They are looking at it though and apparently R11 is soon.

I get bsod issues on bf4. My PC is brand new. Had it one week, I've ran memtest and the memory is failing. But I still had prior bsod issues on my previous PC playing bf4. I'm getting replacement memory sent out. It seems a few people are complaining of bsod issues on bf4.

Patch 1.1 Notes

-Added several crashes to the game
-Added random DLC weapons for no reason
-Added blur effects which can't be removed, they are pretty cool
-Added some more crashes

Server R2.331.006 will hopefully keep the crashing going, no reason for the servers to be stable

But that just means it isn't stable at the end of the day.

yes, but it can just be where battlefield is concerned, i don't know what it is but people can game for hrs on games that are even heavier on memory/processor/graphics and have no issues at all, soon as it gets to BF the system crashes.

This ^.

Don't they understand that the first thing most people do is turn off all blur/motion blur were possible, it doesn't add to the experience it takes away from it and gives some people headaches too (i'm one of those unfortunate people).

Found someone has recorded and uploaded a video of it to youtube already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsmuB5RaGkc&feature=youtu.be

Update: Supposedly EA are aware of this 'blur' issue and the following user.cfg settings should act as a workaround to stop it for now:

WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0

Other than the crashing, I'm actually finding gun play/hit reg to be a good bit more predictable (haven't enough game time to get a real feel for how accurate it is).

I've removed my GPU overclock to see if that's a cause but I doubt it and will run memtest later. AIDA64 stability test still going strong.

I wouldn't rely on AIDA64. I was AIDA64 stable for 6 hours and I crashed x264 after 1 minute. I recommend x264 runs until stable, then test BF, synthetics are a waste of time.

I couldn't agree more with this. I used a combination of x264 benchmarking and 3DMark to test my overclock after AIDA64 gave me false confidence.

Can you guys recommend any software for x264 encoding then? Is IBT any better than AIDA64?

Did you fix your BSODs, Starmanwarz?
