Battlefleet Gothic: Armada

Saw a patch go through earlier. Eldar in yet? I've nearly maxed out the other three factions, except chaos which makes me feel dirty to play.

E: Eldar is weird to play. Takes some real getting used to. Essentially their shields deflect 80% of damage while at full speed, or zero at full stop. Also all prow weapons, but they are fast and nimble. Pretty cool. Gotta watch out for the taunt though. If your ship just stops and turns to face the enemy and fire with prow then you are in trouble.

On release there will be coop pvp battles (2vs2 by the looks of the greyed out button in the beta). Don't think there will be coop campaigns. I've put 62hrs into the beta and am really enjoying it. Orks are great for brawling, Imperial is great for brawling with finesse, Chaos is good for more ranged combat, and eldar is very much glass cannon hit and run and requires a lot of attention.

So plenty of very different play styles to suit your inclinations.

Picked it up earlier, it does yes the menu like most games doesn't. It's got a little bit of stretching of some ui elements but that could be down to it still being a beta build.

Only done the starting mission and it seems like a game I'll enjoy picking up and plucking away at. With the story are you stuck to this one faction or do you start jumping between them all?
 
I've been tempted to pick it up but with the lack of Co-op player vs AI I wasn't sure. I might just get it for the campaign and hope they add this in later.
 
I'm really excited for release, got my last few hours with my maxed out fleets in tonight before the reset. Looking forwards to the campaign too

That's what I'm going to do until they hopefully add it. From what little I played last night due to the reset today it seems a decent game. Yes it's not the most graphically intensive but it runs well and the story seems interesting so far.

Yeah I am sure it will run ok on lowish settings (which still looks good).
I played it on my surface pro 4 which is dual core and intel gfx and got 30fps at 1440x900 low settings
 
Loving this game so much, if anyone wants to know what it's like I've been doing a Campaign playthrough, I recommend this game to any Warhammer or RTS fan!

Bit old school in regards to normal being a challenge, Then again it could be me as I've not played a RTS in a while so bit rusty.
