BBC standing up to scientology

You would have thought the scientologists would have had someone better chasing that reporter than the bloke with the glasses.

I mean what did he think he was doing, (speaking from their point of view) scientology could had used this to put their point across. In the end they just looked ridiculous.

but was that stupidity or just a lack of common knowledge of nothing outside the states, as anything outside the boarders of America is shown on news and stuff.

Thats the single biggest thing my cousin said when he moved out there, he couldn't belive the lack of news or any other source of information about current world affairs.

 Well my 2 year work/travel program says otherwise.

There are idiots both sides of the pond. Nothing is gained by throwing stones. If they didn't think it had a possibility of taking off in the UK, they wouldn't have bothered investigating it in that light would they?

Hubbard stated that the delivery room should be as silent as possible during birth.[37] This stems from his belief that birth is a trauma that may induce engrams into the baby. Hubbard asserted that words in particular should be avoided because any words used during birth might be reassociated by an adult later on in life with their earlier traumatic birth experience. Hubbard also wrote that the mother should use "as little anesthetic as possible".

That is class, reports say that you only remember sounds and memories when you start to speak and how many people have gone on to live great and successful lives through normal births, it’s all garbage.

Both countries have their fair share of idiots, the US just has far more in ratio to it's far greater population.

That last part where Sweeney snapped was planned completely by the Sciento....errrr......weirdo cult aliens. They wanted his to snap in that location because right at the end the wannabe men in black man deliberately started abusing him to the point where he did snap. I back up Sweeney completely. They wanted that reaction so they could discredit him, i.e. the youtube videos that have flown around the place lately.

I find the whole incident where they barged into that interview on the top of an empty car park with that guys history from upwards of 20 years ago, mid way through the interview highly amusing. All it makes out Scientology to be is a bunch of bullies.

Apparently the entire plan for the documentary was to determine if Scientology had truly changed its ways from the aggressive actions they did in the past and claimed that they didnt do now. Obviously, the whole harassment of John clearly shows that they are still doing what they claim they no longer do.

If they had co-operated and been agreeable maybe panorama would have probably shown them in a slightly better light than what the show did. They just put a bullet in their own heads. Terrorist threats HAHAHA The place was crawling with Scientologists so one would have just gone to the cafe and wrote the 'threat'. All a bunch of cobblers.

I agree with others here, Scientology should be cleansed from the earth. I know, get them all onto a volcano and nuke em :p, get rid of the lot of them. Maybe the bad movie acting will disappear as well :D

A horrid picture came into my head...

what if the scientologist begin to get Chavs into their cult? I mean, specifically targetting them into joining their "religion" (IMO, Cult)...?

I have a plan!!!!!!!!!

Right does any one know of any Islamic Extremist forums?

If so we need to do the following...

1 - Sign up, call you self Scientologist#1
2 - Basically say Islam is a load of **** and that Scientology is going to rule the world
3 - post pictures of the headquaters, accidently leave the postcodes for them.
4 - Say that they are better than anything the Islamic Relgion has.
5 - Say you have Tom Cruise and they have *insert famous person who is of Islamic faith* and Tom Cruise is uber religion guy better than their person
6 - Call them more various insulting names etc etc
7 - Get banned from the forums.

Then we wait for a week or two.

Then b00m!!!

bye bye to scientology. :D

Probably both, my landlord and quite a few other shop owners in the area had the impression that UK is a third world country. The amount of stupid questions asked was so laughable my housemates made several posters filled with them. Choice quotes include "Do you celebrate the 4th July"?, "Is there pizza in Scotland"?, "So which part of London are you from?" etc etc.

EDIT: Like I said in another thread, I was there when the 7/7 bombings happened and they spent all of 2 minutes of their "special report" on what happened in London and the rest on measures and steps to take in the US.

Well then we'd all be royally screwed as instead of just being mugged and beaten up, we'd be mugged, beaten, lectured and made to spend all our savings on "audits" .

LOL! Fighting fire with fire?

Not a bad idea except they must first get into their nerves, really really badly than just forum trolling...

I didn't mean it like that, I just meant they have a higher chance of recruiting Americans then they do British people.

No, they were trying to get me involved under false pretences. They were saying their cult/religion/whatever was something it wasn't.

I'm curious, did you sense some manipulation or something? You don't strike me as the type who would be susceptible to their methods, just as I hope I would be the type that isn't either.

I went in to one of their (the church of scientology) "free" personality assessments whilst I was in Sydney on a 12 month backpacking expedition.

The gave me a questionnaire. Basically asks you questions about your life. You have to answer on a scale of 1 to 5. Where 1 was completely agree, and 5 completely disagree with the question or statement. I filled the questionnaire as positively as possible.

I was lead to a very plush room, and left there for a while. Finally my "rep" came back and took me in a small room to "discuss" my results. He said that I was depressed ( ) and lacking direction in life.

I mean. Here I am in Sydney backpacking around Oz, depressed and lacking direction... Having been to manly beach that day and had a great time, it was amazing to discover that I was actually depressed all the time...

So I told the guy that I wasn't depressed. And he waffled on with himself. So I told him that I am not interested because I know that I am not depressed. He kept going on at me how "auditing" would help me achieve my dreams. And that if I just bought this "book" and read it. Said that I had the skills to become an auditor myself if paid for this "course".

EDIT: I just remembered, he actually gave me the book first - before he said I had to buy it. Only when I said "I can keep this" did he mention I had to buy it... Luckily I am not the type to feel pressurised into buying something just because its in my hands.

At this point I had enough. I wanted to leave. This guy kept up the heavy sell at me. I was getting more than a little worried at this point and demanded that he leave me alone and that I wasn't interested at all.

On the way out - he spoke with someone else. Then I had about 4 of them hassling me. I mean, if I really was depressed I wouldn't have stood a chance. I would have been the proverbial fly in the spiders web.

Nasty people. Very nasty.

I met some on Hollywood Boulevard, decided to take a look at their exhibtion but they didn't push it on me or my friend or anything. Were just free to look around, it looked a bit too tacky tbh and felt more like a scifi convention(not that I've been to one). I think they were slightly confused at me when I left cos I'm pretty sure I broke 3 of their E-meters!! lol

To be honnest i think the scientology guy is lucky that it wasn't an amateur/independant crew making the documentry because i think we would have got kicked to ****
