BBC Top Gear - Series 23 discussion thread

bahhhaaahhhaaaa, god the bbc need to sack him

Overnight television viewing figures for Top Gear have never been less relevant. Obviously some newspapers prefer to live in the past.

yet last week

The new Top Gear is a hit. OFFICIALLY. 23 % audience share. 12% MORE than the opening episode of the last series. These are the FACTS.

I was just going to post the same Glaucas, contradicting himself much?!

As I said last week, I want to see it work. More bloke tv the better. But CE needs to go and the scripting needs to be massively improved. Last week the scripting was dire.
"hopefully BBC listen sack CE and i'll give it another chance in season 2.

He's made himself look stupid with that contradiction. He'll be posting next about how these figures are much higher than episode 2 of series 11 so it must be a huge success. FACT

Yeah, his ego simply wont be able to handle the fact that people hate what he is doing.

It will be crunch time when Clarkson's show launches on Amazon, that could be the point we see him melt.

I think the heat will dissipate on CE once Clarkson's show launches. People can relax in having a show from their favourite trio whilst, perhaps, appreciating having a second car-based entertainment show for what it is, rather than for what it isn't.

I'm not feeling it myself (think the new-TG is alright), but I can relate the way a lot of people are feeling about TG right now - I felt much the same about the England Cricket Team, following the ejection of KP: actually wanted them to do badly to force a change. Ultimately, i got back on board and appreciated the team for its merits (though still wish KP was involved.

Jokes aside, will The Grand Tour have better viewing figures? Being on Prime only, that may limit it massively. What are the average viewing figures of new shows on Prime like at the moment?

They don't release viewing figures from what I can see from a quick Google so who knows.

Episode 2 was very good last night. I Like the introduction of celebs who went on the road trip with them as well makes it a little different.
Don't get all the hate on Twitter etc the old Top gear was past its sell by date and was getting boring and far too soap opera with JC acting like an idiot
