Beamer Drivers 'Rudest'

Since getting my BMW 320D a few months ago I do try to keep my driving to the standard expected by other (lesser) road users.

However, as it is an E92 M-Sport (therefore almost identical to an M3) I feel my need for 'pushing on' should be allowed as I am clearly in a superior vehicle compared to most. Particularly with my DRL's on just to make sure you know I'm behind.

Oh, it is also a company car. Oh yeah, I am also in the Sales game & thus my time is far more important to me than most.

What's the issue  Just get outta my way

Most people won't have to get out of the way because you'll be miles behind.:D

No link to original study = fail.

From the article: "More than half of 3,000 drivers questioned said they had suffered a bad experience at the hands of a Beamer user."

So basically, the Sun went around and asked people. And those people probably remembered the one BMW that ****ed them off because of the general stereotype.

It's like when you go to buy a new car. My mate wanted a Celica a year ago, pretty uncommon car. Then driving about you notice every Celica you see. I'm doing the same with the Mk2 Focus atm (Damn though, they're common as muck, aren't they...)

I admit, I do the stereotyping thing with white van drivers. Like the one this morning who slowed from 60 to 20 in front of me at a junction, and then indicated to turn. I don't remember what the old man doing 30 in said 60 was driving though. (But I do remember that he was an old man, funnily enough)...

I've had more beef with Audi and Ford drivers in the last year. BMW drivers are almost well behaved these days.

They still need to work on that "indicating" thing though.

I think people have to double take when they see me driving around, I indicate and let people out and am very courteous to other drivers...nobody seems to expect or understand it. :D

Lol, what a load of crap ...incidentally it's usually Audi diesel drivers that I find being numptys on the road now, rude and aggressive.

Maybe I should stick an M badge on my Jag, I seem to get treated with so much ...respect and courtesy with a Jag, so many people comment on it too, when I actually wash it myself and I'm out the front passing neighbours walking their dogs (I don't even know exactly where they live, but apparently they are neighbours) comment on it. I need to do something about this, once I was "that sarcastic nob with the BMW" ...now I'm the "nice young chap with the Jag" ...urgg.#

Honestly as soon as I put a Jag back on the drive everyone starts treating me like I had just found absolution and returned from the dark side. Weird.
