Just wondering when Titan x RTX is coming? That's all I need for the next 2 years.

Hyping up ray tracing but too slow to use it. Another daft "checkbox" feature that will require years before its feasible, and by that time these cards will be as cutting edge as a dinosaur's dump.

Agreed. My plan is to wait until 2020 at this point and grab a 2019 OLED on clearance

By the looks of things I will be sticking with my 4K G-Sync monitor for many years, as unless OLED comes to PC, I do not see the point in upgrading for a long time.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Nvidia only released Volta gaming cards because "AMD can't compete", and then out of nowhere AMD do the 7nm respin of RX Vega they said wouldn't happen; Hynix HBM, better yields for lower power draw and temps at the MSRP that should have happened, and suddenly they've closed or slightly surpassed Volta's 5-10% bump over Pascal?

The problem here is nVidia have options - if they trickle tech out it isn't because they are struggling it's because they are taking advantage :s so if AMD did do that they'd be able to respond unlike Intel who have their pants down.

It will probably be called, the Geforce 2080 GTX. with an RTX technology label on the box somewhere, just like they do with how much memory a card has.

Ready to preorder as I'm guessing these might be hard to come by.. but then again they were supposedly stocking up on these so they should have a lot of them.

Hope they have a good selection of cards, maybe the founders with better coolers unless it was BS.

All Turing looks like to me is Volta cut down and using GDDR6.

NVidia demoed Ray Tracing on Volta for a reason, a single Turing card is not up to the job.

Intel have little issue in designing better CPUs, their biggest issue is in fabrication and the disastrous 10nm. Nvidia don't have to worry about their own fabrication, they choose from TSMC/GF/Samsung. And if all 3 have issues then AMD have the same choices, only more constrained because AMD need to sell GPUs as well as use a certain number of wafers from GF.

The plan isn't to have fully raytraced games, but the Ray tracing will used for global illumination which is already done in real-time in advanced games. The siffdiffer will be the ability to have more lights with higher resolution RT, more effects and all faster.

They just demoed that same Star Wars demo on a single Quadro Turing during SIGGRAPH, it was done using DLAA as well.

I got a Titan xp 2016 now. For me at least is all about performance not to much about money. If its going to be 50% more GFLOPS than what I have now I'll get it if it comes under 2,500 pounds or there about. I do hope they will improve the cooler with 2 fans at least or better yet put AIO on it.

to be honest it boggles me that NV are too cheap to put an AIO cooler on all of their gpus over say £1500 as an option as default. I mean come on really... do they really add a significant increase to the cost when you are talking 1.5k+??
