Belgian Grand Prix 2014, Spa-Francorchamps - Race 12/19

Loterrer confirmed for this weekend. Statment doesn't say how many races. Just says job is still part of the team.
I don't mind this loterrer is a good driver who has won several things. Be interested to see how he compares.

Love Spa, my favourite track. High power sensitivity and aero efficiency means that this track should suit Williams and obviously any car with a Mercedes power unit.
I'll be interested to see how Andre Lotterer gets on this weekend, he's an absolute machine in WEC :D

Anything other than a second off the back of the grid and a mildly consistent race will be a good showing for a driver in the slowest car with zero running in an F1 car for well over a decade.

As much as everyone would want their chance in F1, the first two offerings which came to mind (among the hundreds of drivers who must have lined up on an F1 grid once) are a certain Jean-Louis Schlesser and Markus Winkelhock.

One was comfortably the slowest driver in the field, yet led the race (in Murray's last commentary), the other will be remembered extremely fondly by McLaren fans.

Last year I heard cars starting on our camp site spa d'ore at about 5.45 am

We had planned to get to the track for say 9 ish but got there at 6.30 am.

When it opened people were sprinting around the place to get a good spot. We walked fast to our spot and werr 5 rows back

I would just get there as early as possible if your on general admission

I booked a seat this year at silver 2 as I couldn't be dealing with all that again. We did see some good racing though

Anybody staying at spa d'ore?

I am really keen to get an update about the Lotterer situation, he surely cannot be replacing Kob for the rest of the season? The way the news stories and comments are all referring to a race weekend, and how Kob is still part of the team leads me to believe this is purely a back-scratching/sponsorship thing.

I was hoping to get some advice on which car park to use?

You haven't booked parking? Oh...

From memory you are looking at 20 Euros a day to park if you just turn up, and likely only in the Red car park, assuming they have space.

Yellow is at La Source and you enter behind Eau Rouge. I think they only let you park there if you have a grandstand ticket as thats where all the grandstands are.
Green is camping, I'm not even sure they have a car park, but if they do it enters at Le Combes.
Red is all car park and open to all, and enters at Stavelot.

We have always pre booked parking though, so I've no idea where you can go without it.

Yeah I left it too late too book parking, my own stupid fault really!

I'll make sure that we get there mega early and hope we get a space

As far as I can remember from a few years ago when I went, there's plenty of local people offering places to park (for payment ofcourse). Even if the official car parks are full, it shouldn't be a problem assuming you get there early and don't mind a walk from town to the La Source*.

* Maybe completely wrong. Even if desperate, don't park on the track :)

The car park wont be full, it will just be weather they let you in or say its for booked people only. I've no idea unfortunately having not done it, but I would say Red is your best bet as they put a lot of cars in there (they park all down about a mile of road too).
