Belgian Grand Prix 2015, Spa-Francorchamps - Race 11/19

Supreme lap from Hamilton, but he must get a good start tomorrow and out of slipstream distance.

For a moment it looked like the pack had closed on Mercedes, well, at least until Q3.

Could be a dull race though.

DRS will be interesting with the Merc's tomorrow, the rear wing looks impressive, their performance gap looks to have extended. Will be interesting of the DRS has become more effective as well. Also interested to see if we see this wing at other tracks, Monza probably but beyond that at higher downforce tracks.

A blinding lap by Hamilton, he deserves that qualifying trophy, he has left Rosberg for dust.

Vettel said nothing went wrong, they've just not had the pace.

Ok, so that's just going to be a boring race unless it rains or something.

Wish the other guys would catch up. At least the ferrari's will be exciting to watch for a bit.

Could have what's just happened in GP2 happen. Maldonado's is in the race, so it's entirely possible.

Was on the phone with the TV muted when I saw the wheels touch and the car rocketing off towards the barrier. That was a nasty crash. Almost as nasty as the BAR-Honda's trying to go up Eau Rouge flat.

GP3... GPRetard is what it should be called. So the timer went out but they are racing still as they didn't do a flag. There has been crashes, several virtual safety cars, all just ridiculous frankly.

Commentators keep making up nonsense about virtual safety car as well, complaining that they have to start racing on soft tires and cold brakes and it's dangerous.... even though that is exactly no different at all to restarting under a normal safety car or even at the start of a race so it makes no difference. As for drivers not being ready again that can happen with a normal safety car and does.

I had low hopes about Hungary, too, but I guess that was a really rare race.

I'm hoping Spa isn't just another Mercedes 3 and a half minute Mercedes win because I think that will kill my enthusiasm for F1, it's already dwindled a fair amount this year.

The difference is they get 10-15 seconds notice of the restart and it can happen anywhere on track. I like the idea of VSC but the current restart procedure is inevitably clumsy as the cars are going so slow, much slower than under regular safety car.

Poor Rosberg. He is going to have to come to terms with the fact that Lewis is simply better than him at some point.

Though I suppose at this level he can't have that mentality. He must secretly realise it deep down though.

I think he already has, but that dosnt stop him from taking advantage of mistakes or off days on Lewis's part, and the way F1 is these days those can easily swing a championship if hes not careful.

Really hope Lewis can take advantage of the second half of the season like he did last year, that pole lap was a very convincing pace marker, if he can get a good start tomorrow, i think he'll walk away with it.

I honestly think Honda just fall into the typical Japanese company stereotype, there is what they say is happening, like Fukushima is entirely fine, then there is what is really happening like, opps, a category 7 nuclear disaster.

I think Honda have been lying to save face since the start, nothing they've said has been remotely believable, really basic logical thinking would suggest rushing complex technology development in a short period 99.99% leads to disasters. Their test 4 months earlier than other teams got to test their first engine was a disaster, 4 months later another test was a complete disaster, by Spain they were a disaster but still telling everyone the engine is great.

In this particular case I think less than promising a great engine they were just returning a blow back to Mclaren. Mclaren have since the start of the season proclaimed their chassis excellent, you know because it's small packaging while ignoring everything else that makes a good chassis, while telling the world the only reason they aren't at the front is the engine. Honda probably having enough of that over time and wanted to put it out there that maybe it's not all engine.
