I honestly find the opinions of the armchair daredevils here astounding.

Comparing this weekend to 96, 2 years after we lost two drivers in one weekend, when we are racing in Belgium when there have been two bad crashes at the same corner in similar conditions. The very same corner where a very talented young driver died two years ago.

The world changes, and so does the appetite for risk. F1 cannot be seen to send drivers recklessly out to their death. Yes racing is dangerous, but I value the opinion of the drivers, officials and people who live in the sport about where that line lies.

Claiming it's down to drivers being "wet" or the sport being soft is ridiculous.

Belgium is inherently dangerous as a track so maybe we shouldn't race there anymore. We can have Yas Marina on rotation.

But does the fastest lap, if set by someone in the top 10, get 1 point or 0.5 point if they "race" behind a safety car for 2+ laps? :D

They will go out even if just for a couple of laps. F1 loves to do daft stuff for appearances, like not letting the safety car take the chequered flag as if it's fooling anyone that the race finished under the safety car.

I hear there is now a shortage of lamps, torches and lights in the local area :D

The weather radar shows that the weather wasn't going to clear until around 6PM (rough guess) so who knows whats going to happen.

Looking at the weather radar, stopping the race time clock gives us another 2 hours sitting around doing nothing as heavier rain seems to be incoming.
