I love that end for Charles. I'd like him to be in the hunt, but he's driving for utter buffoons, and the comedy has to come from somewhere.

It really is a shame because I think Charles is pretty close to Max in terms of driver skill.

Hopefully, that wasn't a sign of things to come. I have no problem with Red Bull and Max winning but that looked ominous for the rest of this era regardless of him having a new engine. Ferrari is never going to win a championship with how they currently operate so that leaves us with just Merc who is in a tricky position of having to decide whether to risk the entire era by continuing with their current seemingly flawed philosophy in the hope it eventually works out or ditching it and playing catch up as Red Bull did for the past era.
Maybe this race was a one-off and things will be closer elsewhere but I would not be surprised if this was the start of Red Bull's domination of this era. Merc should have paid their staff more so they didn't all bugger off to Red Bull
