its either Deux Ex or my personal Fave of all time System Shock 2

sorry but HL2 was dull - I have genuinely never heard anyone articulate what is special about HL2 - but you could write essays about deus ex and SS2 imho

edit: not totally sure if they are valid as they are much more than simple shooters but deus ex is listed.

HL1, closely followed by Far Cry. I'd also put Doom3 in the top ten, although almost everyone else hates it.

If you're considering Deus Ex to be an FPS, then it has to be Deus Ex...

I really consider it to be more of an RPG than an FPS though, in which case HL2 gets my vote.

Put me down for Deus Ex though, since it's the greatest game ever made anyway

Original CS mod from around 1.1 to 1.6 when it got really good. Don't even want to think of the hours spent playing in clans, mixes, public, deathmatch, LANS etc

Altho Ive spent years on cs and css the best is and I think always will be hl. It totally defined fps games.
