Best mouse for gaming?

I've never used the RAT3, 5 or 7 plugged in, I've held the 3 and 7 on a display stand and it feels the same as the 7. It has weights in it so you can change that if you want, the tracking has been fine for me with no noticable lag.

I'm not the most experienced person with mouses though, you're probably better off looking at reviews.

As for wired vs wireless, IMO wireless is much better for gaming (assuming you have a good mouse). I used to get the wire caught up on stuff on my desk and after it's been tidied away a few times the cable (unless it's braided) starts to get kinked and gets even more caught up. I dunno about the Mamba but the RAT9 comes with 2 batteries so if you do get caught out, it's pretty fast to swap them.

That's a rather ignorant comment. This mouse is considered to be one of the best gaming mice still. It is still used by a large portion of professional FPS gamers.

Newer != better.
 
What works for others may not work for you...

What hand size have you got? My hand is 7 inches from wrist to the tip of my middle finger therefore I have quite small hands which need a small ish mouse.

What kind of grip do you use to hold your mouse? palm? fingertip? claw?

I use claw and my hands are best suited to a mouse like the Logitech G9x or the CM Storm Spawn.

Recently got rid of my deathadder as my hands just don't suit it at all... it's a solid mouse, just not for me.

Im just going by what i have experienced changing from the microsoft to the razer. If these professional FPS gamers are still using it i can only assume they havent tried any other mice. :p

And yes in the world of electronics newer = better

That's fair enough if you prefer the Razer. You are assuming wrong though, in thier opinion (and mine) a better mouse has yet to be released. Almost every new mouse that is released has a problem that the WMO does not. I.E path correction, higher lift off distance, heavier, acceleration, etc.

In most cases, newer hardware is generally better, not with mice. (for gaming)

I'm one of many that are awaiting the release of a mouse that actually improves on the WMO. :p
 
also laser mice are still fairly new, they have come a long way but still imo don't compare to a good optical mouse.
 
Mx 518 for work and a Steelseries Cata gaming mouse for home (I used to play a lot of WoW arena). Tho, I used the Mx 518 for about 3-4 years at home.
 
I went from a logitech revolution which wasn't designed as a gaming mouse but it was an £80 excellent laser mouse and I really liked it until I got the Deathadder 3.5g, it outperforms it in games in pretty much every way, the only thing I miss from the revolution was the hyper fast scrolling
