RP5 i think is small, like a iPhone 16 Max size? I was looking at the Idin 2 Portal, now that's big.

Was walking to work this morning, the RP5 might be a good machine to play Xbox Cloud, more so than the Steam Deck which is too big to stick in my sling bag.

Go into retro arch settings and turn off the notification for Fast Forward.

When you get the RP5...could you let us have your feedback?

I have an itch to give Andriod another try and think this could be THE one. I have put the TrimUI Brick to the back of my mind now seeing I have several consoles with screens of similar dimensions already but only the Flip is widescreen.

I bought the Brick because I want something that does Portmaster which I hear it will... if not, i'll sell it.

That or just have a card for Rocknix / Batocera on the RP5 and hope Portmaster is available for either of those.

I've been looking at this as well but don't know if its worth it as I already have a Miyoo Mini, good price though.

Even though I have the Miyoo mini I like the idea of a similar size screen in higher resolution.

I also want the SP still…but all of them seem a waste because I think the 40v is probably the best vertical handheld for me from a size vs screen size and portability mixed together.

Especially as I only really play it when I go on a plane. The steam deck is too bulky to get out in economy, it’s hard to put it away when the meal comes, even squeezing into that pocket behind the seat is a squeeze. Which is why I think the SP is also cool.

I know it’s a very strange litmus test lol

EDIT - I am so weak and such a shopperholic, just ordered the SP!

Why not a nice small, 4:3 OLED device? - RP Mini

Looking at other screens now look dull and lifeless

Retroid need to make a vertical 4:3 device with a nice OLED screen, doubt that will happen any time soon though.

Hard too see in pcitures, but you get the idea.

Also, light bleed on the RP mini / OLED is none existent. Here's a comparison between the RG Cube and RP Mini both at max brightness using https://lightbleedtest.com/

Note the iPhone 15 pro camera pick up on any light and amplifies it due to shutter speed.

I quite like the vertical format for 4:3. Just more nostalgic. Price is also a factor, I can get like 5 of these little consoles for the price of 1 RP Mini.

Will pick up the RP5 later on once people have a 1st batch. I will probably stop getting these budget retro console now until they make something significant, like an OLED version of the SP.

They'll end up as ewaste at some point, I buy device then sell them on.
TrimUI brick and Miyoo mini might being sold on.
