Best Retro Handheld

Those who have Rp5's on order, how has DHL handled the import duty?
I've got one on order, according to goretroid it's not processed yet but i've had a voicemail from DHL saying I need to pay duty. Called DHL via the number on the website (not the number that rang) and they don't have a record of the purported waybill number.....

I went 4PX - So hopefully they handle any import duty.

I went 4PX too, because DHL stings you for duty. I'd be careful in your case but it's either ligit, scam or hell of a coincidence. Could you let us know how much they charge you?

I see the rain forest are scamming again with their inflated sd card prices after black Friday. I want another 1tb SanDisk extreme I got one for £78 it's now up to £119 I mean come on.

The voicemail didn't state a number, googling the number had varying replies from scam to genuine. Contacting DHL directly, they had no knowledge of the shipping number the voicemail stated.
My shipping date has just gone live on the shipping dashboard and I've emailed retroid, so I'm going to ignore it for now until my order changes status.

Really tempted by the RP5, seems like the 'high performance' one to add into the collection. Delivery times are the only thing putting my off!

Spent the whole weekend pretty much setting these 3 up. Also collection so far, the SP is actually not that thick.

Of the 3 new ones.

40xxv - I think in terms of playing, this is the best one. Great size, feels good in the hand, the stick actually works great with MuOS. N64 games works, tried Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 and both works great. Speakers though is crap. buttons are super nice, D-pad is super nice. In fact the perfect one to play at home or carry in a bag. I wouldn't carry it in the pocket though due to the size and exposed screen even though I have a screen protector on mine. (Wish I'd gone for the black one to match the Miyoo Mini though)

SP - Great form factor with the flip screen, clicky buttons, very clicky buttons but the form factor is the main selling point here.

A30 - This is charming but feels the most toy like. Also Spruce OS's built in box scraper doesn't work for me so no box art which sucks. Will have to figure out how to put it in manually. But the buttons are very good, the stick not so much but it is very low profile and the screen is recessed. Comes with a lovely case.

I'd convinced myself not to buy another small handheld.

I resisted temptation with the RP5 (Gamecube colour nearly had me). Resisted temptation with the 35xxSP (transparent green almost tipped me over the edge)

I don't think I can resist Anbernics latest model the RG34xx.

That is the one model that doesn't tempt me. I actually have an original one at home still, the first one without the backlit LED. I remember getting it for the train but the next one, the DS Lite was THE one. The GBA always feel the most toy like for me, DS Lite feels like a console.

Yeah I know what you mean but I still have nostalgia for the GBA form factor. Plus..it's transparent green!

DS Lite is still going strong here, great little console.

Hardly any

I just watched RGC's new video with MinUI on it, it now looks REALLY look like a mini Analogue Pocket! I love it.

Questions - Does the White look good in real life? Or do you wished you ordered the black?

I like the transparent shoulder buttons that comes with the white one and the white and grey button contrast but I regret getting the White RG4xxV (too plain) and wonder if you feel the same and wished you gone for black instead?

White look good IMO.
Shoulder buttons are not trasnparent, they're a grey colour.

Here's my vid

Someone elses shoing shoulder buttons
