Best Retro Handheld

405M has been great but it does struggle with Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2 which is a shame but it seems to be the limits of the chipset. Everything under including many PS2 games I’ve been trying seem to work well.
What emulator is it running on, PCSX2?
under emulation, try setting EE cycle rate to 180% or 300%
EE cycle skipping set to Maximum overclock

Has anyone tried Koriki on the RG35XX? Fantastic CFW to say its in early beta stages (0.8)
Setup is easy, art skraping and alignment work well, arts loads instantly and gpu support.

Sticking with Garlic OS, if it aren’t broke and all that as I don’t play N64 games.
I’ve got GarlicOS and roms on another 2 cards.
Koriki having GPU support has the option of overlays and shaders and performance seems better to me (only tested a few PSX games)
Oh, also its many other systems, not just N64. E.g. Dreamcast, PSP, Nintendo DS and greater MAME/Arcade support

I've not been tinkering with my RG35xx for a while, I've actually been playing games on it!

Koriki does look interesting though, not sure how well N64 would play without an analogue stick.

Well i seem to be playing my Miyoo Mini + a lot more than my Steam Deck, it's perfect for 8/16bit games and PS1

I would love to see Miyoo release this flip design which is rumoured next.

To answer the OP question of “best retro handheld” I would still have to say Steam deck.

I had a go with the ROG Ally and it feels nice but the interface is no where as near as good as the deck yet.

Stam deck ive managed to play XP and Win9x era games using the Proton experimental compatibility layer, run emulation to PS3 and run PCem at 200Mhz to play 3dfx and AWE32 games from the 9x era.

What makes it for me is the interface, customisation ease of controls, trackpads and Proton.

Being able to play modern 'AAA' titles for me is just a bonus really.
I have these installed plus some older games and many emulators - Wreckfest, BeamNG drive, Hotwheels unleashed, GTAV, Flight Sim 2020, Dirt Rally 2.0, Half life 2, Portal 2, Only Up, Quake 2 RTX, Wreckfest, Isle of man TT ride on the edge 2, Total war rome 2, Trackmania Canyon, Planet coaster, Mortal Kombat Komplete edition. All run well but I still prefer the older games I have installed - Atomic bomberman, Midtown madness, Ballance, Arcade pool 2, Motocross madness 2, Soda pipes, 3d pinball Space Cadet, Virtua Fighter 2 (Sega model 2 version running through Proton tricks) and all Sega model 3 games.

Another vote for the Steam Deck here :)

Just got my RG35XX. Loaded GarlicOS on straight away. Plays really nicely! I've got the d-pad issue so will take it apart to try and remedy that.

Seems a fantastic value device, though!
