Best SIM only deal for Nexus 4?

You get more cashback from the 12 month contract. So it's cheaper over a 12 month period that going to for Ultimate 200 minutes 1 month contract for 12 months. Obviously it's up to your if you want to commit to a 12 month contract or not.

Well yes but that's 3 pounds more a month :p

People keep saying you can get the £6.90 one and add AYCE for £3.

"Add All-you-can-eat data (contract term).

Use the internet on your phone as much as you like for the rest of your contract. For customers on Essential Internet plans.
All-you-can-eat data.
Price: £3.00"

You have to ring them up to add it on to any contract, so yes it is available.

edit: Found here under the 'Pay Monthly Phone' dropdown.

Hmm, really liking the sound of this option. What are Virigin Media like for data? They say unlimited on some deals, but is it really?

EDIT: Wow, even worse than O2. At least O2, just slow you down and not charge you. How any provider thinks they can get away saying 1GB is unlimited is beyond me.

http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/gene...ur.service.footer.sm068#Our Fair Use Policies

I thought this was not allowed anymore, that's just blatant false advertising. Wow.

That's for...

Our Fair Use Policies for Pay Monthly customers that connected before 25 June 2012

But it also says...

For customers who joined Virgin Media after 25 June 2012 excessive use over 10GB of data per calendar month will result in their maximum bandwidth being restricted to 3G speeds (384kbit/s) on our network between midday and midnight. For customers who joined before 25 June 2012 excessive use over 2GB of data per calendar month will result in this restriction being applied. This policy will apply until the end of the calendar month, when it will be automatically removed.

So basically using over 10GB will result in decreased speeds, but that's reset at the end of the month.

Thanks for this, I should learn to read things more thoroughly. I have too many tabs and different plans open at once haha.

Though the online agent has just told me there is no fair usage policy.

You: Okay but you do have a 10GB per month FUP? Which only results in decreased speeds and not extra charges?
Emma: No, there is no fair usage policy.
Emma: You can as much as you can.

:D

Extra £5 a month for tethering. Best deal by far if you use a lot of data. If you're only using 2Gb and high minutes. Threes plans aren't so good. They're designed for heavy data users.

Virgin has some great deals.

Giffgaff being o2 isn't the best for signal and now they've put the prices up, I don't realy see the point over say threes plans.

The £5 tether option only allows 2GB though, so it looks like you loose out on the £3 you've paid for unlimited data.

The would probably only need to read the user agent string of the browser you were using to determine whether or not you were tethering... if something could obfuscate that, then you'd be good to go.... but of course that would still be against the T&C's.

What if you have a dual core phone and are running ubuntu on the phone and outputting to a monitor?

you're not tethering, but you'll use just as much data as if you were.

Well I got my Three sim today and Speedtest shows I'm getting 8MB down, quite an improvement over my maximum of 2.5MB with Tmobile :/

I might try and ring to get the All you can eat data for £3 tomorrow.

Was just about to ask about this. I popped into 3 about an hour ago, and the lad didn't give me that option. He did say he'd refund back the £15 IUP if I bought the Note2 instore for £500. I'd then be looking at £12.90 for the ultimate internet 200 one a 1 month rolling contract. I would get that from quidco or TCB to get the saving though.

That's disappointing, you won't lose the unlimited though, that's for phone use, it's just the tethering which is limited. :(, £5 for 1Gb (that's what it says in t&cs is stupidly expensive.

I don't know what to do, was all geared up to get the unlimited inter 200 1month sim deal and on tethering. Now I don't know what to do.

I saw this thread and realised my contract was up this month with Three. Actually it ended 5th Nov so lucky I called!

I was planning on going to Giffgaff or something but since its only 4 days away I have gone onto their monthly plan, atleast for the time being anyway.

Went for their Ultimate Internet 200 plan. Unlimited internet, 200 mins, 5000 texts for £12.90. Could had gone for one at £9.90 which is the same except 500mb internet, to be fair, thats what I'm currently limited to and I'm usually well under but now I've got an excuse to abuse it!

-edit- Spoke to Three and they put the £3 all you can eat data through for me fine, then I got a call back saying that there is an error and they can't do it :/

Had a little bit of an argument with them as it is listed on the add-ons page currently for the plan I'm on but I had no luck. I'll call back and try again tomorrow.

That said, their website appears to be down for any sort of account pages at the moment so it could be that that's caused the confusion as the woman simply said there was an error and she couldn't do it rather than saying that it's not applicable, didn't stop her trying to sell me a more expensive contract though.

The store likely won't know about that offer - my local store didn't.

As for the tethering addon...you should be fine without it, but of course, if you need it, go for it. Either way, the deal is rather amazing.
