I can barely hear it, I can only hear the case fans to be honest and they are fairly quiet

Put it this way, compared to the Arctic Cooler In my old machine this is super quiet

What temp programme you using to check ? so i can check my Noctua as Real temp gives me between 13-24 idle.
The difference being im running 2600k and you are running the 2700k

Temps are good but you didnt prime 95 for long enough.

+1 six minutes of prime95? try intel burn test for a while and tell us what happens

Never used the Apache but then I don't rate them that highly based on a review of the Vipers by Xbit. The Phanteks are 140mm so that alone should make it more favoured towards high airflow/low noise.

Tried intel burntest on very high @ 4.6 and got up to 70 degs so stopped it!!

Thanks! Each to their own I suppose. I am fairly new to this chipset, so overclocking is all on auto, when I get my head round it all I'm sure it will perform better

As for standing out like a sore thumb, I guess that's why they are not dull colours but nice vibrant ones! I kinda like that
