BEST UNREAL???

Never played unreal, but I own all the others. Played Unreal II though. The original UT is the best. I really liked 2004 and played it online loads, but you simply cant beat UT, especially with its amazing soundtrack :)

The best:
Go Down
Forgone Destruction (DM Face)
Mechanism 8 (DM Deck 16 IIRC)
The Course
Lock
Menu Music

Most important one! :D Love hearing that whenever I load up the game. Tbh even when Kevin Reipl and Jesper Kyd took over in the later UT installments, the music was still awesome.

I would say the first one. Great single player game and then brilliant multiplayer and bots. Graphically it was also ahead of its time. The intro fly-through is forever burned into my brain from hours of tweaking my Voodoo 2 card to get the best fps :)

Then: UT > UT2004 > UT3 > UT2003 > Unreal 2

Unreal Tournament GOTY Editon (1999) was the best one for me. Only one that I'd still say was good. The later Unreal Tournament games were all terrible and as far as the Unreal series goes I can't say I ever played them. Probably never will.

The level Morpheus from UT was epic. :)

I haven't played many but 2004 was my favourite. Hard to put my finger on what it was - I just had more fun on it than the rest.

I occasionally play UT3 these days. It's still a fantastic looking game.

UT99 was great, UT2k4 was good, UT3 was "meh".

Although UT3 is growing on me a little, now that I've found some decent custom maps, but it's hard as the community is virtually non-existant now.

If they left the game alone and only released graphic updates then the game would still be popular today. But no, they had to **** around with it and lost money :)

Unreal 2 XMP still probably had a better feel to it than UT2003 or UT2004 had tbh.

Surprised this has only been mentioned once? U2 XMP was absolutely fantastic - shame it didn't really take off that much, since it's by far one of the best multiplayer FPS I've played =D

This has now inspired me to go dig out my copy of U2 - the single player is awesome too :p

I feel ashamed saying this but I never did finish Unreal 2 :(

I loved the first game and funnily enough started replaying it again a week ago, I wish there were still single player FPS games around that compare to the original Unreal in terms of re-playability

I seem to remember I got mine in exchange for £10 and a set of drumsticks from a mate at school (god was it that long ago?!)

I just think the weapons in the game have a really nice feel to them, especially the magnum pistol =D

UT1 ofc, still playing heavily 10 years on. Enjoyed UT3 for a while but never seemed to catch on like the others unfortunately - might have done better if it had been released with the titan pack as it felt a little rushed.

liandri music <3

UT99 had the best feel, everything felt huge and chunky and the guns were really meaty.

UT2004 everything felt a bit thin and the weapons werent as devastating.
