best washing machine?

I'm after a new washing machine but hate spending money on this sort of stuff. My current machine is a fancy Samsung I bought second hand 2 years ago for £45. It's now leaking on the door seal and so I have to put a towel on the floor when washer is on.

Saw an advert on TV yesterday for this Beko at Currys for £169 but don't know whether to go for a washer dryer and get rid of my tumble dryer also.

I bought a Samsung Eco bubble 12 months ago.

I bought from Currys, price matched to John Lewis, used Top Cash Back and there was a free camera offer from Currys too.
Sold camera and washer ended up being ~£270 with a 5 year warranty.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh yeah.

Why not just rplace the door seal?
Did it on my bosch aftr the wife tore it by getting a zip caught, was an easy process.

Going to be moving on from my LG direct drive soon. No major mechanical issues but despite adjusting the feet so it is balanced and quiet it lasts about 2 washes before it gets noisy again. I have my eye on Miele next.

Why do you think buying a Miele will solve that?

The LG machine is old and it stops the other half nagging. :D She is always talking about Miele!

Miele has always been superior just seems the right time to move on from LG. There are only so many times you can get on your hands and knees with a spanner adjusting the plastic nut to re-level the machine.

Miele machines have cast iron cradles over the drum opposed to other manufacturers who chuck a lump of concrete in there.

Due to this extra weight, along with the superior build quality, he'll notice a difference.

It is so noisy when it spins too. I either need to be upstairs or out when it is on.

I called 2 repair men with a view to get the seal replaced a while ago but they both weren't interested.

Buying machines is a headache, miele would be nice but at that price you could buy several bekos and get perhaps 30 years run, so short run cheaper, long run perhaps works out similar.

LG + direct drive or Samsung I think are good choices, went samsung myself for just under 400 bob but got a 5 year warranty. Could have gone with say a LG + direct drive for 300 but then 2 year warranty.

If you want recommendations for washing machines check out mumsnet.com - honest reviews from people who probably use and abuse the machines the most. I loved the story about Jeffrey who had passed away after 25 years - he was a Miele.

Doesn't help if it's the last few years they've gone downhill but our Hotpoint has lasted 6 and a half years now, used daily, and never gone wrong.

Now I've said that I'm guessing it'll blow up this week, not that I'd know as I never touch the thing ;)

We've had ours for about the same time, the only thing I've had to do was replace the heater element last year at a cost of £30 and 20 minutes time.

Meh, I think people go a bit OTT with the bashing tbh.
