Best X570 Motherboards

Ive found a place that has a MSI B450i GAMING Mini ITX Motherboard and they will flash the bios for me when i purchase so i dont need a amd cpu.
Just need to know if its a decent board and will be good enough for my needs or wait for the x570 i just dont know if the extra cost of the x570 will be worth it for me

Depends on which CPU and if overclocking. The VRMs can get hot and the system can even shut down with an overclocked 2700X depending on workload. The VRM quality isn't the whole story when it comes to ITX boards. They have to be quality because of the smaller PCB and heatsink size, but they will still get hotter than the VRMs on a B450 Carbon Pro Gaming ATX for example, which wouldn't throttle as quickly despite the VRM setup being slightly less quality.

I guess the x570 boards will be available when the new CPUs are ?

As I am looking at getting the 12 core part to replace my ryzen 1700. Seeing as I have a Gaming K5 (with an already warm VRM setup) I guess I'll be looking something like the Taichi

Should the 3900 be connected to both, or just the 8 pin?

The 8pin alone should be sufficient to power any of the 3000 chips at stock

i'd plug in both if you got it . Yes it wont pull make power form both but power should be split and delivery to vrms would be a little cleaner .

only way i can really describe it is , single lane going to 12 booth tole bridge , vs 2 lane road going to same 12 booths. one road would allow cars to go quicker but you get the rough idea .

new PBO over will ask its self, how much power can i pull? how many VRMS have i got to handle max power pull? and then, whats the max temps CPU and vrms will heat and will I be cool enough?

Yeah if you have the extra 4pin may as well plug it in, but I don't think the board manufacturers split the connectors to only supply a specific set of VRMs (if they do then you would need both plugged in regardless)

Can't seem to find any high res images of the back of any of the x570 boards to check if the 2 sockets supply an isolated supply

no, not designed as split - just loading of power etc . if you happen to run 16 cores va single 8 pin and overclock it - 8 pin gets a bit toasty! just like 8 core 9900k can .

Building up a pile of parts for new build; already got case, psu, ram, cooler.

Pretty sure will be going for the 3900x, just not sure which motherboard yet. Wasn't planning on spending much over £300 so looks like the Asus Strix X570-E Gaming is ruled out now. Probably coming down to x570 Taichi or Aorus pro wifi depending on reviews and pricing.

Edit: Currently running a Asrock Fatal1ty Z77; has 10 sata connectors and 12 usb ports on rear io

vrm break down for Strix x570

12 (4 ) SiC 639 50amps (funny enough Elite uses roughly the same DrMOS units) . Guessing the are using Multiphase controller in Quad mode from PWM as no Doublers . @Journey @EsaT pretty clued up with VRM design

will be priced against Ultra which will be/should cheaper along with the Pro which has the same VRM set up and both have wifi

12x ir 3553 40amps with 6 doublers IR 3599 AND PWM IR35201 in 6+2 config

if your looking at X470 - Taichi or Aorus 7 to save cash . Looking at cheapest X570 most likely Gaming X with 10 phase design ( 5 doublers and 600amps across VCore) for under £200

seems MSI X570 Ace is up - Vs the Master

Apart from aesthetics and an extra M2, is there any other difference between the ultra and pro?

nope, VRM the same. Not sure if UK will get Pro Wifi and Pro non wifi - @GIGA-Man might be able to shed some light on that as i'm confused lol .

Ultra has dual Finned Heatsink Design where as Pro just has it on the main bank . If theres a non Wifi version of the Pro and you dont need Wifi, id get that and put pennies towards CPU.

Why wouldn't we get the Pro Wi-Fi? It seems the sweet spot for me (want integrated Bluetooth), along with Taichi.

Been comparing the specs and manual of the pro wifi and ultra. All I can spot are the finned second VRM, the 3rd M2 (which disables 2 of the 6 sata ports) and comes with 2 thermal probes (pro still has the connectors but probes not in the box?).

Guess it comes down to availability for me. Don't need WiFi now but would like to have for Bluetooth and WiFi maybe useful in a future life. I keep PC's a long time, still using my 12 year old Q6600 as second system. All being well it will finally be retired and replaced by my 3770k next week.
