Best youtubers to follow?

I want to like Total Biscuit, but the more I watch, the more I think he just goes against the grain to be controversial and get views, yeah. Like his video on Bioshock Infinite, yeah. He moans about every little insignificant thing he can find for an hour and admits he has not even played the whole game, yeah. He also admits he has been playing it on and off while doing other stuff, which is totally the wrong way to play a story driven game, yeah.

Only other gaming channel I know of is Yogscast, which was decent for a while, but I soon lost interest.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who pretty much thinks TB is a twonk. I like to compare him too that PC hardware reviewer who marks every case down if they don't have a removable motherboard tray. TB makes a habit of moaning if a game doesn't have a setting for a setting for a setting it's absolutely retarded.

I like TotalBiscuit's videos. I don't always agree with what he says and sometimes find his justification for a position boarders on hypocritical. However I do like how he lays out his position, generally quite thorough, and tend to agree with the reviews he gives so a good source to find new games.

I remember his overall message for that video was "brilliant story built upon weak gameplay mechanics" and he was spot on IMO. You don't need to play the entire game to reach that opinion as it becomes evident rather early on. I also remember he finished the game.

The impression I get is that he just fundamentally dislikes the creeping of console conventions (e.g. minimal configuration) onto a platform which rightly touts configuration and modification as a big advantage.

as sad as it may sound because its fashionable to hate him, i actually enjoy watching pewdiepie, his darksouls playthrough is what made me end up buying it :) also have a lot of time for cryaotic

Totalbiscuit i enjoy his cooptional podcasts with jesseecox and dodger, his hearthstone vids are also good fun.

Yogscast have also been a good source of enjoyment for me over the years but imo they have added too many different people to the team that they have sort of lost their niche in favour of trying to appeal to the mass markets.

Not so much a gamer but i also follow boogie2988, find him such a genuine bloke.

This isnt a troll post, but why watch somebody else play a game? Just play the games yourselves surely.

Baffles me that these guys make money from just playing the game and slapping it on youtube.

I can only assume the average viewer of these channels is very young cause I can't for the life of me see how any fully grown man would waste their time watching someone else play a video on youtube... It's bizarre on so many levels.

Is this really what kids do in their spare time ? Watched one video of that Frankie guy to see how on earth he manages to get a million views and was left even more bemused by it all. The comments are just full of little kids bumming him left right and centre as if he's some kind of superstar. Is this whats cool now ? Forget rock stars etc it's all about pasty young awkward men commentating on themselves playing video games, this is the new cool 0 o

The internet is a very strange place.

Well not every youtube video related to gaming is just some guy talking over some gameplay footage although to be fair they are the most prevalent and frankly I don't understand why they're so popular. Kids are stupid I guess.

Some of us just want to get a feel for new games without having to buy into misleading trailers and marketing campaigns. Raw gameplay footage coupled with an informed opinion (hopefully one that hasn't been bought) is generally a pretty good gauge for which games to purchase.

I watch people play games I'm either on the fence about or have no interest in buying, just so I can see what it's like.

My fairly substantive subscription list includes:
BaerTaffy
bisnap
boogie2988
Eatmydiction
FailRace
GassyMexican
Hutch
Juicetra (although most of his videos are CoD which I don't watch)
Northernlion - for the indie stuff
Robbaz
RockLeeSmile - again, for the indie stuff, he covers so much content.
Scott Manley
SeaNanners and,
TheSw1tcher

There are others, but I only tend to watch the games I have an interest in.

Angry Joe
Nerd Cubed
Total Biscuit

And sometimes Pro Jared and Boogie2988

I like Angry Joe's stuff best, but he tends to go for quality (production) over quantity, and has slowed down a bit lately.

NerdCubed does a lot of Indie games, which suits me. His "plays" vids are usually pretty funny too.

TB is annoyingly sidetracked by Hearthstone currently, which I have no interest in, but he offers a considered opinion on stuff.

seriously blizzard must be paying people sto spam hearthstone videos.

for a TGC the game is weak as hell and as basic as they come.

there isn't even trading in a trading card game
the only thing it has going for it is the fact it's made by blizzard

it must be the most boring game you can watch as well but TB must have posted hundreds and hundreds of videos of it

I really enjoy videos by TheRadBrad. I used to watch the MediaCows but the in-game comments started to grate on me after a short while. TheRadBrad all the way now.

i know cuz people cant like a game made by blizzard without them being coerced lol

Im loving hearthstone, i would never get into something like magic so hearthstone is perfect for me.

The fact they are uploading vids of it is no doubt in part due to the huge hype there was over the closed beta, but as for them actually enjoying the game, shock horror.

I've not watched any Hearthstone stuff (simply not my bag), but I suspect he's pumping out so many vids simply because he can make them really easily (presumably he's just playing the game), and he gets loads of views (so cash) on every last one - the Youtube masses are lapping it up.

TB pretty much admits as much, Hearthstone is easy money for him because people seem to like it so much.

Personally I can't see the appeal in Hearthstone, looks pretty boring to me.

The fact that Hearthstone is consistently in the top 5 most watched games on twitch shows how wrong you are
