Twitch chat is generally fine in streams up to 1000 viewers. That's about the limit of where a streamer can track and interact with chat while still playing. Streamer interaction with chat promotes community and means people don't feel they have to do extreme things to stand out.

Above that and yeah, there's too much attention seeking and cancer posters.
