It shares the same gameplay mechanics and narrative style.

Shame about many of the review scores falling at the lower end of the scale, was really hoping they'd have nailed it this time but it seems Cage's writing ability just doesn't apply well to the type of game he's trying to build. If it wasn't for The Last Of Us I imagine scores would have been a touch higher, but it's still very fresh in people's minds and the comparisons in terms of how the story is presented are inevitable.

Have contemplated cancelling my pre-order to pick it up at a later date, but I've got the Special Edition for £31.50 from Tesco so there's probably not much point. I quite enjoyed Heavy Rain despite the somewhat lacklustre voice acting and dialogue so at least Beyond will be a huge improvement in those areas. Still in the middle of GTA5 at the moment so I'm not sure when I'll get round to playing it though.

Heavy Rain got very similar review scores and it turned out to be one of my all time favourites. I really think you need to like this style of game to enjoy it.
 
played the demo, graphically awesome imo zero screen tear, love the style. loved the gameplay and its heavy rain style of control which to some is tedious but I like it.. missus was watching me play it ans was like, hey that looks good, so its a purchase..

this is what I like, ps3 game that makes me want to play , last of us did this, as did killzone 3. I can see why its a bit marmite though, the qte can really put some off shame really
 
Considering that Heavy Rain is one of my favourite games, Beyond: Two Souls could have scored a lot lower at these outlets and I'd still buy it. I really can't wait to play it, became bored of GTA (I'm in the minority on that one though) so really looking forward to something a bit different.

It's a shame because reviews like IGN's can damage the chance of this genre developing further.
 
So, where is the cheapest to grab this? Me and Missus will play this at the weekend once the little un is in bed... Demo was awesome, played it again this morning, and its my type of game..
 
i've looked all over tesco direct website, cannot find it to buy, now I know i'm getting old and can get a bit thick at times, but searches on tesco bring up nothing lol

Didn't have high hopes for this game. Always though it would fall flat and fail to live up to their first game.

Most hyped game to fail this year? Definitely up there... I suspect watch dogs to fail too.
