BF3 min/rec specs show as follows.......

well at 1080p my Tri-fire 4870's should be ok, but i'll miss out on the DX11 eye candy :( Will have to wait and see what the 7 Series brings to the table then I may consider an upgrade.

I'm a pc gamer at heart, always have been, never got on with consoles. I game at 1920x1080 with all settings on high in just about every game i have.
BFBC2 is my game. However.....when i watch my lad play COD on his 360 on a 720p tv, it looks really nice. I sometimes think it looks better and smoother than on a pc. Is it just me then?

CoD is amazingly smooth on my pc, it feels a lot smoother than CSS and it's like 10 years younger :)

Consoles? CONSOLES? Go kill yourselves. COD on an XBOX looks like poo compared to a decent PC (talking £1k worth only). Yes PCs are more expensive but they are sexier!!!!

I am hoping to play BF3 on ultra and at 6048x res. Unfortunately, I know what ATI drivers are like and BC2 only reaches around 60% GPU and struggles at high settings and that res.

But seriously, consoles?

Yep, pretty much :D

Have you played COD on your PC at a real resolution for comparison?

6950 is recommended, which means it run high/ultra on 1920x1080 or so.
Playing bc2 on eyefinity and I use low setting with crossfire I average around 100fps.
I expect Bf3 be similar on same settings.

People are so overhyped.. ;)

You don't call 1920x1080 with full AA and all setings high 'real resolution'?

I dislikes console gaming, but it was just an observation. Maybe cos i didn't play it on the console (only watched my son play) that i didn't really appreciate the difference.

Similar? It's using a new engine, don't even bother trying to guess based on BC2.

Hopefully will be able to run it at med/high settings at 1920x1200 OK, what do you guys think..

i7 920 @ 3.6Ghz
6GB DDR 1600
4870x2

hmm, i don't have a dx11 card, iv got a 4870X2 , even these days its still a nuke, it powers though every game i got on maximum fine, recon bf3 will kill it? lol

You must play some old games or at a low res to be able to play at max with only 1Gb per GPU :p

2560x1440 and a GTX 480. I've got my fingers crossed. If it runs like **** at high I know I'm gonna force myself to buy a 580 or something damnit.

Well I plan on a second 480 if needed, wouldn't that be better than a 580.

Depends how good SLI is... I haven't heard very good things about that... must say that is a while ago though

But eh, 2x 480 = lot of power & noise... :D
