BF3 vs MW3

I already have bf3, and ill be purchasing mw3 as well. Theyre two different styles of fps, and i like switching between the two types, bf3 for team play and cod for doing my own thing. I do like the fact that the cod games are a lot easier to run, and a bit less buggy than the bf series. Bfbc2 is still plagued with a few issues ages after release, still enjoyable as well though. Heck, give me any game where i get to shoot and blow **** up and im happy.:D

I hate teams(teams as in random people on the internet whom dont play as if they are in teams at all) I want to be a lone wolf. Thats whats putting me off getting Battlefield 3.

But I dont really want overpriced MW3 either.

May as well just play CoD4, same thing as MW3, but cheaper.

Get BF3 if you want a game which has actually made progress since the last.

For me, probably i'd give BF3 the edge as it does something different over BC2. MW3 is just more MW2, which is more MW1.

I won't be getting either until they're £15 or less mind, there's no way i'm paying the prices EA and Activision want for these titles, especially as from what i've heard, SP is a joke.

If you want tactical large scale battles with squads and vehicles, this is what BF3 offers

If you want arena style maps with fast action with teams or solo play, this is what MW3 offers.

Both 2 different games imo, only thing they share is the modern combat theme.

Just get both? There place in the gaming world for mw and bf , you don't have to be a fanboy.

Spot on. I'm currently playing BF3, I'll pick up MW3 once I've played BF to death and need a break. Same as most I've played all the cods and bfs, both offer great gaming experiences in their own rights :)

This.
I for one prefer the battlefield style of play as its tactical etc.
From time to time i will play COD4 as its a game which you can jump into and jump back out off

Battlefield 3 for me, I would much rather log in with 3+ friends and form a squad and work together. I guess if you prefer going alone MW3 might be more fun, but it's not for me, probably more of a social aspect to be honest.

MW3 just because everyone from Chesterfield has it.

BF3, i just can't get my self to like it, at all.

Before BF3 was released I was saying you couldn't compare them. They are different games. Not anymore seeing as though Dice have created Battlefield: Call of Duty edition.

MW3 for me!

Didn't enjoy the BF3 beta much so I'm going to go ahead and buy MW3 with my £20 off Amazon voucher. Can't go wrong for £15 (The same price as a map pack but you get new campaign, new maps, new spec ops missions and new survival mode).

Ive got BF3 and i loved COD 4 , never had an actual "modern warfare" title but might get this one as part of a chrimbo package from the wife !

I have both played 40 hours on BF3 and all day on mw3 so far, so probably in a good place to comment on this debate.

MW3 is just rehashed MW2 a few new game modes and streaks and weapon perks (reduced kick lol). I loved the gameplay of MW2 and the shooting mechanics, great for the runner gunner kind like me. And as it is pretty much the same I am so far again loving the general game mechanics. IWnet is still a pain in the ass, could not migrate to host e.t.c. the graphics to me feel worse than MW2 but that maybe becuase i have just spent 40 hours playing BF3. I have a big worry though the maps don't feel good. They pretty much all seem to be very congested, I have not found a map with interesting open areas. Granted it takes time for maps to click and for you to start to love them but they don't seem to have iconic maps. MW2 had great maps like Estate and Scrapyard, I also loved wastelands. Blops had weaker maps but still some good ones like villa. These maps all feel very forgettable so far and I really don't think they will grow on me.

BF3 - The 1st thing about BF3 is the graphics it is so many levels better and so is the sound (though it is hard to hear footsteps if someone is close). It has a steeper learning curve but vehicles really add a different dimension to the game. There is a lot more you can do which adds interest to the game. My problem with BF3 is struggling to find a place. I don't know if i should be playing 32 rush, 64 conquest, 24 TDM e.t.c. while this is a problem for me it is a benefit to most as you can find the game type that you enjoy and stick to it. I also feel unlocking all the attachments for every weapon is a little tedious. Finally while the team work aspect is great in concept i don't see much of it. But when I do it really elevates the game.

Before my conclusion some background to show I am not a fanboy. Quake 2, CS 07-1.4 (i think) then a big sebatical (called wow). Then Mw2 480 hours played. Black Ops 342 hours played. BFBC2 16 hours played.

Despite my recent history with COD for me BF3 is the game I want to play! Having said that I have decided to give MW3 3 days of play to see if the maps grow on me, i really don't think they will and then I will be back to BF3.
